WATERPROOFING CONVENTIONAL ROOFS

Asphalt surfaces: Old asphalt surfaces and asphalt roofing felt after cleaning must be primed with DOLPHIN AQUAFIX WATERPROOF diluted with 20% water. This would strengthen the weathered surfaces. Blisters in asphalt roofing felt must be cut open cross wise, dried and bonded with suitable adhesive. After complete drying of the primer and bonded areas, DOLPHIN AQUAFIX WATERPROOF applied with brush, roller or spray gun. A brush with horse hair bristles will provide almost texture-free, smooth surfaces. For spraying, DOLPHIN AQUAFIX WATERPROOF may be diluted with a little water. Higher dilution would lead to sedimentation and blocking0 of spray gun.

Terrazzo Tile Roofs: Damaged or washed-out joints should be cleaned and repaired or re-grouted. After thorough cleaning to remove all loose material, prime the entire surface with 20% diluted DOLPHIN AQUAFIX WATERPROOF. After the primer coat is completely dried, then make two coats of DOLPHIN AQUAFIX WATERPROOF previously described.

Flat roofs with zero pitch: Flat roofs without pitch, so-called zero pitch roofs, are roof surfaces where puddles may develop and which therefore pose special problems. Puddles after curing cannot be rectified which may necessitate redoing the entire waterproofing. Hence dry weather condition is a prerequisite to help satisfactory curing and puddle free coating. Broom with hard bristles (example of stiff plastic) should naturally not be used for cleaning since in unfavorable conditions they may cause damage to the coating.

Metal Roofs: 1st) Iron or galvanized iron: remove loose paint with a wire brush. De-rust corroded areas and prime with suitable metal primers. 2nd) Zinc or aluminum: remove loose paint with a wire brush. Remove corrosion if present and prime with solvent primer. Thoroughly remove moss and mildew with wire brush; subsequently clean the surface with a broom. After thorough drying of the primer, application of DOLPHIN AQUAFIX WATERPROOF carried out as previously mentioned.

Concrete Roofs: After cleaning the roof surfaces, prime with 20% water diluted DOLPHIN AQUAFIX WATERPROOF. After complete drying of the primer, proceed as described under asphalt roof surfaces to apply DOLPHIN AQUAFIX WATERPROOF.

APPLICATION OF MEMBRANEStandard procedures to be followed for cleaning, the substrate and primer coat application. After complete drying of the primer coat, give two coats of DOLPHIN AQUAFIX WATERPROOF at the rate of 0.850 kg. per sq. mtr. making a total of 1.5 to 2 kg. per sq. mtr. including the primer. Curing for 48 hours is adequate at normal temperatures. However at low temperature conditions curing time to be extended accordingly and ensure complete curing before laying thermal insulation and mechanical protection.

THERMAL INSULATION100% closed cellular structured, jointed extruded polystyrene panels are placed over the DOLPHIN AQUAFIX WATERPROOF continuous waterproof membrane. The thickness to be determined by the degree of insulation required.

Store away from sunlight and preferably below 30C. Storage should be frost protected. DOLPHIN Aquafix Waterproof has 12 months shelf life if stored in required conditions.

DOLPHIN MDF BOND KIT is a bonding agent which, comes in a set of high viscosity cyanoacrylate adhesive and an aerosol activator.

- High bonding strength.- Suitable for use on an inclined surface.- Suitable to bond on an uneven and rough surface.- Particularly suited to bond difficult substrates. It increases the bonding strength by preventing the adhesive to be absorbed by the surface.

- Clean the surface before application.- Move the adhesive nozzle on the targeted areas as the adhesive drips out.- Spray the activator on the other surface.- Join both surfaces and press them firmly with your hands for one minute.- Application temperature is 5-30?C.

Shelf life of 18 months if stored below 25 ?C in an unopened container. Temperature is a critical factor in storing this material, hence material should must be kept below 25 ?C. Stacking of 5.4 feet should be done in the warehouse.

- Multi-Purpose Floor & PVC Vinyl Adhesive.- Recommended for bonding of PVC sheet, Vinyl coverings and tiles, EPDM sheet, Polystyrene board, PU foam and similar material with concrete, metals and wooden substrates.- Suitable to most of porous and nonporous surfaces.- Recommended for both horizontal and inclined Structure.- Suitable also for use with under floor heating installations. Apply the adhesive uniformly on the substrate using a fine trowel, brush or roller. Allow the adhesive to set for approx. 15-20 minutes to become tacky then lay the floor covering. It is essential to ensure good contact between the floor covering and adhesive. Bonding over existing floor coverings should be avoided. Clean any excess adhesive with water immediately. Do not allow adhesive to dry.

Uncured sealant may be removed from tools, equipment and non-porous surfaces with solvents. For porous substrates, allow the sealant to cure before removal by peeling or other mechanical means. Cured sealant can only be removed mechanically.

Immediately tool sealant after application and before skin formation. Tooling of sealant should be done in one continuous stroke.

CLEANUP AND REMOVAL
Uncured sealant may be removed from tools, equipment and non-porous surfaces with solvents. For porous substrates, allow the sealant to cure before removal by peeling or other mechanical means. Cured sealant can only be removed mechanically.

When stored in original unopened container at or below 77F (25C) in dry warehouse conditions, HI STICK RTV Gasket Maker has a shelf life of 12 months from manufacturing date. Containers should always be kept sealed when not in use.

SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface must be thoroughly cleaned and should be free of dirt, gravel, dust and oil. The concrete should be dry and smooth. Concrete shall be at least 28 days old, fully cured and well dry. All holes shall be repaired by proper cementitious mortar prior to application.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
No need for primer coat prior to applying the Dolphin Bituminous Waterproofing. If needed, and in case of dusty surface, a prime coat can be applied by diluting 75% Dolphin Bituminous Waterproofing & 25% water and applying a prime coat. Wait for the coat to dry prior to application. Apply a minimum of 2 coats by brush or spray equipment. The second coat is applied when the first coat has completely dried. Apply each coat at a right angle to the previous coat to achieve good coverage and uniformity. A third coat is required for very porous substrate. Apply material to achieve required thickness at an interval of 24 hours at room temperature. At joints and detailing, apply a layer of mesh reinforcement while the first coat is wet. If needed you can apply the mesh reinforcement all over the application area. Allow 48 hours for curing. Coverage: 0.3 to 0.5 Kg/m2/Coat-Depending on the substrate

Store away from sunlight and preferably below 30C. Storage should be frost protected. Dolphin Bituminous Waterproofing has 12 months shelf life if stored in required conditions.
