PVC-resin is made with suspen-iltion polymerization. It is one of the most widely used to manufacture plastic. PVC is shock resistant so can be used to make hard PVC products. It can offer good solubility, good electrical insulation, thermo-plasticity and membrane forming capability. It can offer good chemical stability, resist corrosion and water. Around the world, over 50% of PVC manufactured is used in construction. As a building material, PVC is cheap, durable, light weight, high strength, and low reactivity so it is easy to assemble. About 43 % of the weight of PVC comes from crude oil. The other 57 % comes from a material with unlimited availability i.e. salt (NaCl). In some of the factories, salt is a by-product for some processes and PVC manufacturing activity uses this salt as a raw material. Use of PVC resin depends upon different suspension grade.

95% of DOP is used as a Plasticizer in PVC resins for fabricating flexible vinyl Product like vinyl upholstery, tablecloth, shower, curtain, raincoat, shoes, garden hoses, swimming pools liners, polymeric coating, cable coating, component of paper & paperboard, deforming agents, surface lubricants, in order of importance. The only significant non-plasticizer use for DOP is an replacement for polychlorinated biphenyls in dielectric fuild for electric capacitors. The miscellaneous use for DOP are :- as the solvent in erasable ink, as an acaricide for use in orchards, as an inert ingredient in pesticides, as an vacuum pump oil, in detecting leaks in respirators.

LDPE is the Low Density version of PE. This has less hardness, stiffness and strength compared to HDPE, but better ductility. It is opaque and only thin foils can be transparent. LDPE is used for packaging like foils, trays and plastic bags both for food and non-food purposes. Used as protective coating on paper, textiles and other plastics, for instance in milk cartons.

Pet Resin is a member of polyester family and used in beverage, food and liquid container / synthetics fiber. It is also used as engineering resin along with combination glass fiber.
