Traditionally, steel reinforcement had been fabricated on the construction site in a very haphazard way,  which involved a large labour force and also a huge amount of wastage of steel. This not only meant higher costs but also very long periods of construction. Consequently, the concept of factory fabricated steel reinforcement grew in demand. This is particularly the case where the contracting companies are working on fast track infrastructure or commercial projects. Ours was one of the first Cut & Bent steel facilities to be set up in UAE and we are currently one of the largest and most sought after suppliers of Cut & Bent Steel. Through a very judicious mix of ‘State of the Art’ technology, equipment and software, we have been able to cater to the exacting requirements of various contractors – in fact, during the construction of Burj Dubai (now known as Burj Khalifa), we had supplied about 70, 000 tons of Cut and Bent steel to them. We offer the contractor a fast and efficient service by delivering steel to them in installments as per their site’s phased requirements. In this manner, the contractor gets ready to use ‘cut and bent’ steel, bundled and tagged wherein each and every piece of steel bar is identifiable by a bar mark that reflects the specific point where it is to be used. Over and above this, the contractor does not have to bother about the wastage generated by the cutting of steel as he is charged only for the steel actually delivered to him – he does not bear any cost of the scrap or wastage generated during the process of cutting the steel bar to the requisite length.

Building Code Requirements for Masonry Construction require longer lap lengths in some places. This can be done by overlapping two steel bars and then tying the lapped portion together, but this means more congestion in masonry cells and more difficult construction. The most effective way to alleviate this problem is to use mechanical rebar couplers which join two steel bars by the use of Couplers,  thereby eliminating the lap. Reinforcing bar coupling has all the features desirable in a rebar joining system, combined with unequalled simplicity of installation. Couplers are designed to splice two bars (either the same diameter or even different diameters) normally where one bar is free to move and can be rotated or sometimes in situations when neither bar is free to move or to be rotated. In this way, the Spliced Bars behave as continuous lengths of reinforcing steel bars providing continuity and structural integrity, retain requisite strength, are easy to install while developing higher tensile strength than lap splicing, in reinforced concrete. Mainly used as barrier fencing in square or rectangular shape, it is also used in reinforced concrete,  notably for slabs since the large flat surface makes its use more economical and faster than installing and fixing individual cut bars. Also called Welded Wire Fabric (WWF) or weldmesh, it is an electric fusion welded prefabricated joined grid consisting of a series of parallel longitudinal wires with accurate spacing welded to cross wires at the required spacing. It is a square grid welded at all intersections, and meeting the requirements of ASTM A185 and A497 or other standards. Machines are used to produce the mesh with precise dimensional control. Use of weldmesh can result in considerable savings in time,  labour and money. We have tied up with some units to produce weld-mesh to our requirements and can supply these in various sizes, spacing and diameters.
