Meica Sausages

Meica Sausages, Germany's #1 sausage, are made from select cuts of pure prime pork meat and fine spices. There are no additives, no colorings of any kind, no flavor enhancers, no stabilizers, and no fillers; the use of added water is limited and strictly controlled. They are smoked over natural beech wood and carefully preserved to ensure that the vitamin content is not lost. Meica is USDA certified and carries the European Union's Organic Products Certificate. Meica Sausages are packaged in glass jars, which ensure freshness and do not compromise the quality and taste of the product.

Meica was founded in 1908 by the Meinen and Kahmann families near the city of Bremen, a prime agricultural area known for its pork farms and pork raising traditions. Today, Meica is still a privately-held, mid-sized company, exporting its fine products to thirty countries. It is the market leader in Germany, known for the best ingredients, highest quality, and traditional German recipes.

In January 2010, Meica received three out of three stars in taste, appearance, and texture in test results published in Men's Health Magazine. And in August 2009, Meica Bratwurst ranked #1 out of 35, receiving the top grade for microbiological quality in a test conducted by Germany's premier consumer testing organization.

Sausages have been Germany's essential food for more than 1, 000 years. Their long history dates back to Ancient China, Greece, and Rome, where sausages were already regarded as "convenience" foods. Today, Germany boasts over 1, 500 varieties of sausage and 41 known varieties of Bratwurst.

There are three kinds of German sausage: Rohwurst (fresh, smoked sausage); Bruhwurst (boiled sausage), and Kochwurst (pre-cooked sausage). Bruhwurst is made from finely cut meat ("Brat"), spices, and salt with the addition of water and ice. It is hot smoke cured and boiled at medium temperatures. Frankfurters and wieners fall under the Bruhwurst category.

Meica Bruhwurst Sausages are available in the following varieties:

Langnese

Founded in Germany in 1927, Langnese became that nation's market leader in 1958. Today, with a presence in more than 50 countries around the world, Langnese is the #1 selling honey brand in Europe.

Langnese purchases honey from only the BEST European regions in the world and only from reliable, trusted beekeepers. Langnese conducts over 100 tests to ensure the honey meets its rigorous standards. Furthermore, Langnese does not filter its honey, but manufactures it from the raw state in which it arrives. Not filtering allows Langnese honey to keep its full flavor.

U.S. manufacturers primarily produce filtered honey, which they receive from either China (the world's largest honey manufacturer) or Argentina. While the filtering process can add 6 to12 months of shelf life to the product, it reduces the pollen and therefore, much of the flavor.

Langnese produces four origin honeys: Summer Flowers Honey boasts of excellent taste, color, and consistency. Creamy Country Honey is best used as a spreadable honey on bagels, toast, and scones, and when combined with peanut butter, is an ideal sandwich spread for children. Acacia is a mild honey providing top quality and taste. Forest Honey is a tangy, aromatic blend.
