Discussing leak detection system immediately leads to the first basic question; 'Why a leak detection system'? A familiar reason is, of course, legislation. In Germany all new pipelines that transport polluting, toxic, or combustible gasses or liquids may only be operated if two independently continuously working leak detection systems are in place. The requirements for leak detection systems are laid down in the TRFL (Technical rules for Pipelines). Legislation is, however, not the only reason for implementing a leak detection system. Items such as safety and protection of the environment are obvious. Loss of image is also an important issue. A company's image can be seriously damaged if this company comes in the news as 'not having done everything to prevent a leak'. Less known is that modern leak detection systems can provide relevant pipeline information, such as pressure and flow profiles along the pipeline that can improve pipeline opex drastically. Finally, the quicker and more reliably a leak can be detected, the quicker it can be repaired, and monetary losses can be minimized.
At Fine SPS, metering systems are supplied complete with metering control systems to meet the requirements of the project specification, local regulations and national and international standards. Metering control systems comprising flow computers, supervisory computer, PLC where applicable and auxiliary control equipment are integrated into a custom designed metering control panel. Pipeline flow metering typically involves large line sizes with large transfer of product and more important, large transfer of money. Metering Systems designs and delivers state of the art pipe line metering systems with the lowest possible uncertainty. For years ODS Systems has been involved in pipeline flow metering. From traditional crude oil, refined products or (natural) gas stations to high demanding LNG, LPG, CNG and cryogenic applications we can develop and build the most suitable bespoke metering solutions.
Conventional solutions concerning two- and three-phase metering systems require expensive and cumbersome test separators, high maintenance, and field personnel intervention. These conventional solutions do not lend themselves to continuous monitoring or metering. Moreover, with diminishing oil resources, oil companies are now frequently confronted with the need to recover hydrocarbons from marginally economical reservoirs. In order to ensure economic viability of these accumulations, the wells may have to be completed subsea, or crude oil from several wells sent to a common production facility with excess processing capacity. The economic constraints on such developments do not lend themselves to the continued deployment of three-phase separators as the primary measurement devices. Consequently, viable alternatives to three-phase separators are essential. Industry’s response is the multiphase flow meter (MPFM).

Safety Valve is a one type of valve that automatically actuates when the pressure of inlet side of the valve increases to a predetermined pressure, to open the valve disc and discharge the fluid ( steam or gas ) ; and when the pressure decreases to the prescribed value, to close the valve disc again. Safety valve is so-called a final safety device which controls the pressure and discharges certain amount of fluid by itself without any electric power support. Safety Valve is mainly installed in a chemical plant, electric power boiler, gas storage tank, preventing the pressure vessels from exploding or damaging. Function of the Safety Valve "Nozzle" inside the Safety Valve starts to receive a higher pressure from the inlet side of the valve. When the pressure becomes higher than the set pressure, "Disc" starts to lift and discharge the fluid. When the pressure decreases until the predetermined pressure, the force of the spring closes "Disc".
