Gulf Petrochem recently acquired Sah Petroleums - an ISO 9001:2008 & EMS 14001:2004 certified company, specializes in designing, manufacturing and marketing, industrial & automotive lubricants, process oils, transformer oils, greases and other specialties under the brand name IPOL in India and internationally for more than three decades.
This acquisition fits Gulf Petrochem's strategy to enhance its standing as a global conglomerate operating in the oil space. It further consolidates its integrated portfolio by extending its capabilities to manufacture, supply and globally distribute a wider variety of products, from base oils to finished lubricants.
IPOL touches human lives every day in various forms through the products which cater to a spectrum of diverse industries. IPOL has one of the widest ranges of products carefully designed to suit various applications & deliver high performances. These are available in a variety of pack sizes as per market needs. The products have several latest national & international performance specifications & approvals to their credit such as API, JASO, ACEA etc., other than OEM credentials.
Gulf Petrochem is expanding in the Marine Bunker Business, it now has three barges in the UAE supplying at Fujairah, Khor Fakkan and Jebel Ali, as well as by truck in all other ports.
Gulf Petrochem has oil terminals in Fujairah and Sharjah Hamriyah, which are used for cargoes, blending and bunkers. It also has barge and truck supply in India with storage in Pipavav and barges off Sri Lanka. Singapore came on stream in 2015 and it has barging contracts allowing the company to supply fuel and gasoil in Singapore.
Rotterdam started as a supply location within the group in April 2016 and further expanded into Antwerp in October 2016. Gulf Petrochem now has four barges operating in these locations and will look for further expansion as time progresses.
There is a joint venture operation to allow Gulf Petrochem to supply bunkers in port Tema / Takoradi, at the anchorage and OPL within the Lome - Abidjan Range.
Gulf Petrochem is also active as a broker and trader worldwide.

Gulf Petrochem has an active trading desk that offers supply of gasoil, jet fuel, gasoline and naphtha globally. We source our products directly from major refineries and traders across the globe with prudent management of credit risk, market risk and forex risk.
Gasoil and JetFuel
Gulf Petrochemhas been a major player in the United Arab Emirates inland gasoil market with the establishment of our terminal in Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah. In addition to this, we have expanded to supplying gasoil and jet fuel to neighbouring countries, Indian Sub-continent and East Africa using our storage facilities as well as trading positions.
We are in the gasoil and jet fuel markets not only for local demand and supply but we are active as well on the arbitrage business to the Mediterranean and Northwest Europe (NEW) with lengths coming from all major refiners in the Middle East. We are now actively involved in the European gasoil market as well with presence in the UK and NWE.
Our gasoil and jet fuel footprint have been expanding quite rapidly with rapid growth in volumes now exceeding a 1.5 million tonnes per annum.
Gasoline and Naphtha
Gulf Petrochemhas recently started trading in gasoline and naphtha with production of blend components coming from our refinery in Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah. We are currently trading 60, 000 metric tonnes of naphtha and gasoline blend components annually, we foresee that this trading desk is likely to see major growth in the coming years.
Gulf Petrochem has various supply base for our coal and petcoke trading business, meeting our customers' diverse requirements.
Gulf Petrochem's coal trading has it's share of risks, which can be mitigated with prudent risk management. We believe that the value of the business is in controlling and optimizing the full flow chain of source to destination i.e. from mines to customers. We undertake quality and quantity surveys conducted by reputed 3rd party surveyors at loadport to ensure that the cargoes purchased are within acceptable contracted terms. Gulf Petrochem deals with reputed traders and mine owners to mitigate the risk.
