Manufacturer / Exporter / Supplier Of Handheld XRF Analyzers, Handheld LIBS, MECHANICAL TESTERS, TRIBOMETERS
handheld XRF analyzers, the X-MET8000 series, delivers the speed and performance required even in the most demanding applications, by using the optimised combination of a high performance X-ray tube and a large area silicon-drift detector (SDD). The X-MET8000 series includes 3 models (Smart, Optimum and Expert) to suit all analysis needs and budgets, for scrap metal analysis, precious metals and jewellery analysis, positive material identification (PMI) for inspection and manufacturing applications, and regulatory compliance screening. Intuitive, icon-driven user interface: minimal operator training required Large 4.3” colour touchscreen for excellent results visibility and easy operation with gloves on IP54 rating (equivalent to NEMA 3), allowing the X-MET to be used in the toughest environments Optional shield (Expert and Optimum models) to protect X-ray tube and detector and prevent costly repairs Quick-swap analysis window: no tool required to change the analysis window when broken or dirty Extensive, customisable grade library for accurate grade ID Powerful data management: save up to 100, 000 results, create and save reports directly on a USB memory stick, print them on a Bluetooth printer, or share them on-the-spot with our OiConnect app
Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) is becoming a popular analytical technique, which can potentially measure all elements in the periodic table, in samples of all types (gas, solids, liquids). LIBS is important in applications such as the recycling of scrap metals and alloys where it can be used to quickly identify a large number of items. No other material analysis technique can match the performance of LIBS in this area. The basic principle is illustrated in the schematic diagram. Each laser pulse hits the surface of the material to be analysed causing a tiny amount of the sample to be ablated. This tiny amount of material is heated up to a high temperature, forming a plasma at the surface of the sample. In the plasma, atoms are energized, forming atomic and ionic species of the present elements - the plasma forms with temperatures of 10, 000°C at the sample surface. After each pulse the plasma cools and characteristic light emissions can be observed as the energised ions return to their original atomic state. The light emissions are collected through a fibre optic cable, and processed by the spectrometer, applying advanced statistical methods to generate reproducible, reliable results for each analysis to give the sample’s elemental composition and alloy grade.
The Mechanical Testers have the highest accuracy on the widest range of measurements. Only Nanovea’s Nano, Micro or Macro module have all modes of testing including indentation, scratch and wear; no interchange of modules needed. In order to give accurate and repeatable data, the Nanovea modules are designed with high quality leading edge technologies. This ensures durability with low cost of use. With indentation testing, one obtains depth versus load curves giving hardness, elastic modulus, yield strength, loss and storage modulus and many others. With scratch testing, one can quantify the scratch and marring resistance of coatings and substrates in addition to measuring plastic and elastic deformations. With wear testing at constant load, one can precisely measure coefficient of friction and wear properties. The wide range is the ideal solution for determining the full range of mechanical properties of thin or thick, soft or hard coatings, films and substrates. The powerful software offers a unique combination of features for each test modes. Furthermore, the FastMap feature allows mapping of indentations at a rate of 3 seconds per indentation. With these features, the Mechanical Tester is now the most automated and user-friendly system on the market. Several optical imaging options including 3D non-contact profiler and AFM Module are available for high resolution 3D imaging of indentation, scratch and wear track in addition to other surface measurements such as roughness.
The Tribometer provides highly accurate and repeatable wear friction testing using rotative and linear modes compliant to ISO and ASTM standards. Designed, at the core, with a high quality motor with a 20bit position encoder, the Tribometer provides access to an unmatched range of rotational speeds from 0.01 to 2000rpm. These speeds can be changed quickly in either a stepwise jump or at a continuous rate. This is specifically useful to obtain Stribeck curves or to study static coefficient behaviors. Data can be accurately recorded at specified interval of time or position (>0.006°). The motor has also an integrated self-tuning system which ensures that speeds remain calibrated through time. To match real environment conditions, the Tribometer comes standard with an acrylic enclosure and attached valves which brings inert and other gases to achieve a controlled environment. An optional humidifier and dehumidifier module allows precise control of the humidity levels. A large removable oven allows for high temperature rotative testing up to 900°C. Also, tests can either be done in full immersion for the study of wear andor corrosion. A Lubrication system is also available for drop by drop or continuous spray of liquids. A heating probe is also available to provide controlled liquid heating up to 150°C. To precisely measure wear track volume, a non-contact optical profiler module is used to quantify wear rate in a fast and convenient manner without removing the sample. This gives the unique capability to measure the variation of wear rate during the same test. A mobile imaging option allows recording of the sample surface before and after the test. Because Tribology tests are often of long durations, and require a durable and open testing area, a dedicated Tribometer is preferred to that of a so-called “universal†testing system. The robust high quality design allows Nanovea to offer the longest warranty in the industry.
