DryTex ROOF is a fluid applied, white, flexible waterproof and UV protective coating formulated with 100% advanced acrylic elastomeric resin which forms a membrane of protection that expands and contracts with roofs . DRYTEX ROOF truly waterproof flat oofs, pitched roofs, Parapet Walls, Metal Roof Decks, Terraces, exposed and build up substrates of various types and provide a seamless waterproofing membrane that stays watertight longer than conventional seamed roofs. Field of Application DryTex ROOF remains flexible beneath the surface, bridging cracks and moving with the building structures. DryTex ROOF 100 % Acrylic Elastomeric coating cures harder than traditional elastomeric coatings on the outermost surface, giving this product much better resistance to dirt accumulation. DryTex ROOF is an ideal waterproofing system for all types of roofs and other wet areas of buildings and homes. This product can be exposed and also be part of tiled systems. An Ideal coating system formulated to waterproof universal requirements to suit all types of substrates.

Installation
(a) Surface Preparation Surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry and free of any oil, grease or dirt. Patch and  repair cracks, blisters and other problem areas using suitable materials recommended by  ORGANIX technical support. Any existing coating must be checked for good adhesion. The loose existing waterproof systems should be removed well. Clean by wire brush and use pressured air to blow out all the dust.

(b) Application - Tools or equipments to be used for the application

  • Roller (Short nap roller)
  • Brush (Good quality synthetic bristle brush)
  • Spray (Airless Sprayer, 1gpm, 3, 000 psi, .027 or .031 tip)


(c) Mixing Mix the contents of the pail well enough to remove any sediment .Up to 20 % of clean water can be added to dilute the given material to have enough consistency if necessary during application according to site conditions and project requirements without affecting the specified properties.

(d) Coating Application

  • All roof-preparation materials must be allowed to dry prior to application of the DryTex coating. Immediately prior to application of the coating, all dust, dirt and other contaminants should be blown off the roof surfaces using compressed air.
  • Apply well mixed DryTex ROOF at the rate of 0.6Kg/Sqm at the entire roof using a brush or roller by multi pass spray technique to ensure even coating application to all sides of the substrate. After min four hours, apply the second coat of DryTex ROOF by cross link technology. Make a conscious effort to apply coating into crimped or pre-sealed vertical (side-lap) seams that have not been detailed.
  • While applying, back roll to force material in to voids and even out film.
  • Do not apply if rain is threatening. Do not apply if ambient and surface temperatures are within 5 degrees of the dew point and falling.

StorageStore materials under covered roof with careful handling to prevent damage to products. If conditions exceed these ranges, special consideration in storage must be taken. Do not store at high temperatures in direct sunlight. Shelf life under normal conditions in closed container will be 12 months.

DryTex INSTA 502 is a Polyurethane Injection resin designed to seal cracks in the structures. INSTA 502 polyurethane resin rapidly cures to form impermeable flexible seal. INSTA 502 is solvent free and resistant to hydrolysis and use for sealing of leakages or to stop active water leaks with a high flow or high hydrostatic pressure. Application Field Ideal to seal the moving and non moving cracks associated with building sub structure , slab, roof, masonry, reservoirs , dam , tunnel , bridge, man hole and specified constructions. Suitable for basement waterproofing, permanent sealing to stop active leaks from concrete cracks. Good for new construction and repair on existing structures.

Typical General Application Steps

  • STEP 1 - Preliminary Analysis Analysis helps the technician to identify the exact location and the width of the crack tobe injected. Sometimes the concrete surface is hidden under a surface of mineral deposits left from long-term water leakage. Items that obscure the crack should be removed, because the crack must to be seen clearly in order to layout the drilling patterns for the injection holes
  • STEP 2 – Preparation of the substrate For leaking joints, injection holes to be angle drilled in to the joint . For leaking cracks , drillthe injection holes in a zig-zag pattern around the crack to make sure that the injectionhole intersects the crack. In order to inject resin into the crack, it is necessary to install injection ports ( packers ). The diameter of the average injection hole shall be 13mm dependingon the packer used. Packers are supplied in several diameters and lengths. The angle while drilling should be approximately 45° or less to the surface and towards the crack. Drill at 45 angle in to the crack or joint. Ideally the injection hole should intersect the joint or crack half way through the thickness of the wall or slab The depth of the drill hole intersecting the crack should be somewhere close to the middle  of structure, if possible. Holes deeper than 30 cm are usually not required even if the concrete being repaired is more than 100cm thick. Holes should always be staggered from  one
  • side of the crack to the other. The remmendable number of hole is four in 100cm. This assures a higher percentage of holes intersecting the crack, even if the angle of the crack within the concrete is not perpendicular to the surface. No two cracks behave just alike. In some instances a crack will fill from just a few injection packers. The distance of the drilled holes to each other usually varies from approximately 15cm to 25cm according to the width of the crack. The wider the crack, the further apart are the drill holes
  • STEP 3 - Fixing the Packer Blow the dust out of the injection hole with a probe that reaches the back of the hole . Fix a packer of the right diameter in to the injection hole Place packers in the previously drilled hole, so that the top of the rubber sleeve is below the concrete surface. If the packer can’t be pushed into the hole, tap it in. Tighten the packer with a wrench as tight as necessary.
  • STEP 4- Flush the crack In some circumstances, it can be very useful to flush the crack with water to improve the subsequent penetration of the PU resin into thicker walls. Flushing helps to detect blind holes, or lost continuity of a crack.
  • STEP 5- PU Resin injection When all preparation work is completed, make sure the injection pump is in a good working order. Load the resin hopper and charge the pump, hose, and gun. Open the valve on the gun, and allow all remaining solvent to pass while watching for the resin to appear. Catch all surplus material and solvent in a waste container. Start slowly injecting the crack, holding the pressure line allows the operator to feel the pump pulsations.If the resin continuous to flow freely out of the crack, stops pumping and apply a surface seal over the crack with rapid setting cement or place absorbent materials. Proceed pumping until the resin has traveled from a packer to the next , and is oozing out slowly on the visible side of the crack. Once you are assured that the resin has reached the next injection packer, shut- off resin flow, disconnect your pressure line and proceed to the next packer. Some cases need to be re-inject up to three times. Continue in this fashion until the crack is completely filled.
  • STEP 6- Cleaning and service Once the injection work is completed, a good and thorough cleanup is essential. The packers can be removed within 24 hours and the holes should be patched. If desired, an electric grinder can be used to remove excess cured grout that flowed out the crack.


Packing and Storage Standard 4 L & 10 L Cans /Pails . Store materials between 40°-90°F with careful handling to prevent damage to products. If conditions exceed these ranges, special consideration in storage must be taken. Do not store at high temperatures in direct sunlight. Shelf life under normal conditions in closed container will be 12 months.

Installation - Surface PreparationSurface to be waterproofed shall be dry, clean, sound and free of all contaminants which may interfere with adhesion or proper curing and should be dust-free. All shrinkage cracks shall be treated with suitable material. Moving structural cracks shall be routed out and caulked with approved ORGANIX material. Detailing like horizontal-vertical junctures projections, expansion joints and other areas of potential high movement may require reinforcement mat and sealants to detail. Consult with OBS tech for further information. All detailing must be cured before the application of WAPRO.

ApplicationThis liquid is spread at the desired thickness onto the prepared surface. The coating is applied from the container using standard roofing brushes, squeegees or rollers or airless spray equipment at the recommended coverage rates on properly cleaned and prepared dry substrates. Application of the System should be done in one complete step to create a smooth uniform self leveling surface without cold joints, lines or streaks. Apply the first coat at the rate of 500 micron thickness. Let it dry fully (approximately 2 hours should be waited between two layers), then apply the second coat (500micron thickness) . Waiting time shortens in hot weather and lengthens in cold weather. Allow to dry for a minimum of 3 hours before tiling , build up or trafficable.

Health and SafetyWear protective clothing, gloves and goggles. Skin:- Avoid repeated or prolonged contact, if contact occurs , clean with hand cleaner that removes oil or grease , then clean with soap and water. Eyes :- Contact could cause irritation. If contact occurs, flush with clean water. Inhalation:-Can cause dizziness. Remove to fresh air and if breathing difficulty persists, administer oxygen.

Application Procedure
SURFACE PREPERATIONAll surfaces must be sound, clean and free from dust, oil or grease and other loose materials. Surface may be dump but there should not be any standing water and can be applied to fresh freshly cast concrete too. If requires, prime coat DRYPRIME SB will improve adhesion.

ApplicationPrior to the application , stir the product well . Apply in two coats at a spread rate of 1-4m²/coat. The succeeding coats should be applied at right angles to the preceding coats. For best results allow each coat to dry then apply next prior to the surface becoming contaminated. If subsequent coats are applied to 'non-cured' coats, inter-coat bubbling may result. The coverage depends upon the substrate, application method and project requirements.

  • Tools: Application may be by brush, roller, or airless spray.
  • Brush: Suitable for small areas and flashings. Use a synthetic bristle brush.
  • Roller: Recommended when coating small areas. Use a smooth roller.
  • Airless Spray: 4000 psi min. ½” hose min. 0.025 to 0.039 inch orifice reversible tip.

(c) Reinforcing with FLEXIK. Overlaps, corroded edges, penetrations of pipes or ducting should be reinforced by FLEXIK reinforcement or any approved compatible material (Contact ORGANIX for selecting the proper reinforcement product). If the reinforcement is by mat or fabric, apply a light coat of Liquid DRYTEX HB500, center the reinforcement fabric on the overlap and roll it out taking care not to create wrinkles press fabric down with squeegee. All fasteners should be sealed or capped with DRYTEX HB500 or SEALFLEX sealant with reinforcement material.

(d) Coating Application All substrate-preparation materials must be allowed to dry prior to application of the DRYTEX HB500 coating. Immediately prior to application of the coating, all dust, dirt and other contaminants should be blown off the roof surfaces using compressed air. As it is a ready to use product, just mix the single pack itself thoroughly before use. Cover the entire roof substrate as follows. Apply the basecoat at a rate of minimum 0.6 kg/sq.m. After allowing the basecoat to dry, apply the topcoat at a rate of minimum 0.6 kg / sq.m using a cross hatch technique. Apply the elastomeric coating by brush, roller or airless spray using a multi pass spray technique to ensure even coating application to all sides of the substrate. Make a conscious effort to apply coating into crimped or pre-sealed vertical (side-lap) seams that have not been detailed.

Installation
(a) Surface PreparationSurface to be waterproofed shall be dry, clean, sound and free of all contaminants which may interfere with adhesion or proper curing. The substrates should not contain holes or cracks and should be dust-free. All shrinkage cracks shall be treated with suitable material. Moving structural cracks greater than 2 mm shall be routed out and caulked with approved ORGANIX material. Detailing like horizontal-vertical junctures, projections, expansion joints and other areas of potential high movement may require reinforcement mate and sealants to detail. Consult with OBS tech for further information. All detailing must be cured for a minimum period of 12 hours prior to the application of the liquid membrane. Detailing shall be wiped clean prior to the application of the membrane.

(b) Tools or Equipment - Tools or equipment to be used for the application
Roller (Short nap roller)

(c) Reinforcing the required areas (Optional) Detailing like horizontal-vertical junctures, projections, expansion joints and other areas of potential high movement may require approved reinforcement mat and sealants to detail. Consult with OBS t for further information. All detailing must be cured for a minimum period of 12 hours prior to the application of the liquid membrane. Detailing shall be wiped clean prior to the application of the membrane.

(d) Coating Application Before application, mix DRYTEX PU liquid well with a slow and stable speed mechanical mixer at least for 3 minutes. The mixing container should be dry and clean.This rapid setting liquid is spread at the desired thickness onto the prepared surface. The coating is applied from the container using standard roofing brushes, squeegees or airless spray equipment at the recommended coverage rates on properly cleaned and prepared dry substrates. Application of the DRYTEX PU System should be done in one complete step to create a smooth uniform self leveling surface without cold joints, lines or streaks. Apply the first coat at the rate of 0.6 kg / sq.m Let it dry (approximately 4-6 hours should be waited between two layers), then apply the second coat at the rate of 0.6 kg /sq.m rate. Waiting time shortens in hot weather and lengthens in cold weather. Full cure for foot traffic and flood test require min curing period of 48 hours.

Preparation-Substrate The proper surface preparation is essential for a successful waterproofing. Remove all deteriorated and loose concrete, form release agents, oil, grease, laitance, dust, dirt and efflorescence by dry or wet sandblast, shot blast, or high-pressure water. Repair deeper areas using OBS recommended material. Reinforce and seal all joints, penetrations, cracks using SealFlex construction joint sealants.All bigger cracks must be treated using DRYTEX VASTAF PW9400 and reinforcing mat. Prefill any open cracks larger than 2 mm with DRYTEX VASTAF PW9400 or any other material recommended by OBS Embed a strip of reinforcing mat into the wet DRYTEX VASTAF PW9400 and apply a second coat to fully cover the reinforcing mat ( Consult OBS technical support to select the suitable reinforcement material according to the substrate).

MixingComponent Part A and Part B are separately packed and mixing suitable amount of these two components together on site and then stirred uniformly to have consistency which to be applied on the prepared substrate Pot life is 60 min @ 35 °C.

ApplicationCan be applied conventionally by brush , roller or spray equipment. It is recommended to apply first coat by brush to obtain optimum adhesion. DRYTEX VASTAF PW400 Waterproofing Membrane has excellent high build properties, and can be built up to 2000 micron wet in one application. However from a curing point of view and dependant on weather conditions at the time of application, it is more pertinent to apply and build up the membrane in two or more coats, to allow quicker cure in each stage. The thicker the application the longer the cure.

Coverage0.8 litre of mixed membrane applied wet at 600 micron thick will cover 1 square etre. When bridging wider cracks, bed reinforcing mat into the first layer, allowing for over coating once cured. It is ideal for reinforcing cracks in concrete floors prior to tiling. For all round protection and durability, the final coat in the system should be applied at a rate of 0.8litre per square , metre giving an optimum dry film thickness. The service life of the membrane is a direct correlation to final dry film thickness. A built in latent curing mechanism activated by loss happens in 3 stages. Firstly there is the initial evaporation of the majority of liquid in the system, followed by the second stage where the surface skins over and cures. The third stage (which takes a minimum of 2-6 days) is to complete cure and gain of cohesive strength. The application of the second coat can proceed after stage two. This is a two stage system, inclusive of the necessary bond breaker requirements being addressed.

LimitationsDo not apply DRYTEX VASTAF PW9400 when the temperature is expected to be below 4°C within 48 hours, or when rain is imminent.

Surface PreparationAll surfaces must be clean and free of any moisture, dirt, oil, grease, soapy films, surface chemicals, or other foreign contaminants .Surfaces shall be free of sharp projections, ridges and losses aggregate. The actual surface preparation procedures which are to be followed on a specific project will vary depending upon the age of the concrete, the degree of finishing or troweling, or presence of contaminants or curing compounds.

Coating ApplicationThrough mix DRYTEX P2000 prior to utilizing the material. Apply by brush, roller or airless spray and if required go for the second coat. Successive coats should be applied perpendicular to the previous coat to assure positive coverage and uniform film build. All surface must be uniformly coated and be free from voids, pinholes and blisters. Allow each separate coat of DRYTEX P2000 to dry tack free prior to Appling an additional coat. This will take a minimum of 4 hours.

CoverageCoverage rates will depend on the profile of the substrate. To obtain a 250micron thickness coat apply DRYTEX P2000 at a rate of 4 sq m per Litre. To obtain a 500 micron thickness coat apply DRYTEX P2000 at a rate of 2 sq m per Litre.

Application Procedure - Surface PreperationAll surfaces must be sound, clean and free from dust, oil or grease and other loose materials. Surface may be dump but there should not be any standing water and can be applied to fresh freshly cast concrete too. If requires , a diluted ( 20 % clean water ) prime coat will improve adhesion.

ApplicationPrior to the application, stir the product well. Apply in two coats at a spread rate of 1.2 Kg / m² . The succeeding coats should be applied at right angles to the preceding coats. For best results allow each coat to dry then apply next prior to the surface becoming contaminated. If subsequent coats are applied to 'non-cured' coats, inter-coat bubbling may result. The coverage depends upon the substrate, application method and project requirements.

  • Tools : Application may be by brush, roller, or airless spray.
  • Brush : Suitable for small areas and flashings. Use a synthetic bristle brush.

InstallationWater stop is joined by fusion ( hot melt). First, cut the water stop ends at right angle. Aligned, hold in place using alignment plates and fixtures, heated using hot air gun (350f) and press together to form a butt joint to get a continuous barrier. Installation of Water stop involves split forms. In the first pour the water stop is held in place with blocks or other suitable arrangements on the outside of the split form (away from the concrete which is to he poured). After the first pour has set up, the split forms and block are removed. When the adjoining pour is made, care should be taken to support the water stop

Storage And Shelf LifeThe product will last 60 months from the date of production if stored in its original and sealed packages, in a dry and covered place and with temperatures not exceeding 55°C. They need to be protected from UV rays

Safety PrecuationsIt is recommended that to provide enough ventilation while heating the edges to make the butt joints. Use eye and face protection masks.

PrecautionsStore PVC water stops under tarps or indoors to avoid direct exposure to sunlight. PVC can suffer UV degradation from the sun. Extended UV exposure will leach the plasticizer from the PVC, reducing its physical properties and causing the PVC to become brittle. Protect installed water stops from UV if the pour of concrete will be delayed more than 30 days.
