The Motor Control Center (MCC) means that the combination of starter in a single enclosure containing the Motor starter, Moulded Circuit Breaker, Earth leakage Devices, Fuses and a device for disconnecting power. And other devices are accompanied with the motor, such as Indication lamp, Selector switch, HMI, Pushbuttons may also be included. A motor control center can include variable frequency drives, programmable controllers, and metering and may also be the electrical service entrance for the building. The motor control center may be installed in a separate air-conditioned room, but often an MCC will be on the factory floor adjacent to the machinery controlled.

Most of the load in an electrical network is inductive by nature and hence it is common that the power factor shall be lagging. The capacitor bank is used to improve the power quality by adding capacitive reactance. The most common use of a capacitor bank for AC power supply, error correction is in industrial environments which use a large number of transformers and electric motors. Since this equipment uses an inductive load, they are susceptible to phase shifts and power factor lags in the power supply which can result in a loss of system efficiency if left uncorrected. By incorporating a capacitor bank in the system, the power lag can be corrected at the cheapest cost when compared to making significant changes to the company power grid or system that is supplying the equipment.   The Power factor Controller in capacitor bank monitors the load in the systems & give the signal to switch on/off the corresponding capacitor via contactor to maintain the system power factor to the set value.
