Paving Control System

Trimble PCS400 Paving Control System

The Trimble PCS400 Paving Control System is an easy-to-use 2D paving system with the most accurate sensors in the business. The system employs superior Trimble sensor technology which helps it reduce asphalt usage by paving closer to the minimal required paving thickness. A smoother mat is achieved using the superior averaging capability of the sonic tracers and averaging beam. The Trimble PCS400 is used in production paving applications highways, state roads, airports, large commercial surfaces.

Using the Trimble PCS400 system paving contractors can:

1. Achieve smoothness and accuracy up to the finish surface via the averaging beam capability. Trimbles sonic averaging beam technology can lay the finish at an accuracy of 3.3 millimeters (1/100 foot) to meet even the tightest of smoothness specifications.2. Minimize use of expensive material through better accuracy of the Trimble ST200 Sonic Tracer. The ST200 allows paving to a tighter tolerance and saves money by minimizing the use of expensive material.3. Reduce training time and operator mistakes through an advanced controller and simpler operation. The PCS400 has the most user-friendly interface in the industry. The large display has an easy-to-understand layout for measuring cross slope and height of material.4. Pave slopes accurately and consistently. The PCS400 handles 0.5% slopes accurately and consistently.5. Earn bonuses for rideability, a measure of smoothness Get the job done faster and with excellent smoothness results, meaning greater bonuses.

3D Machine Control

Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System 3D Automatic Control

One of the most revolutionary changes in the way earthworks are performed has been the introduction of 3D systems originally by Trimble in 1995. The Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System represents the next-generation 3D system from the company that invented 3D grade control. The GCS900 Grade Control System is a cutting-edge earthmoving grade control system that puts design surfaces, grades and alignments inside the cab. The system uses GPS/GNSS and laser, or construction total station technology to accurately position the blade or bucket in real time, significantly reducing material overages and dramatically improving the contractors productivity and profitability

TRIMBLE GCS900: WHICH MACHINE / WHICH SOLUTION?

The Trimble GCS900 is extremely flexible and can be used on excavators, dozers, motor graders, compactors, scrapers, trimmers, and milling machines. You may purchase the GSC900 outright or as an upgrade from a GCS600 Grade Control System. And with its CAN-based design, the GCS900 can be easily moved from machine to machine, as needed. Dramatic gains in production are possible by using the GCS900 system on many types of machines in your current plan.

Excavator Systems

The system uses two MS972 GPS receivers and solid state angle sensors to measure the precise 3D position of the teeth of the bucket. With accurate, 3D positioning of the bucket, the system guides the operator to quickly perform complex tasks and simplifies finishing slopes

An optional AS456 Submersible Enclosure provide a water tight seal around the angle sensors, allowing the machine to be used for wet construction with far less assistance from divers and surveyors.

Compaction Systems

Asphalt Compaction

The Trimble CCS900 3D Grade Control System for Compactor is the last machine to pass over your paving project, and mistakes during this phase can be very costly to fix. CCS900 will calculate the exact position of the machine and display a color map indicating the current number of passes and possible overlaps. With 2 infrared sensors you can also measure the surface temperature insuring the asphalt is at the correct temperature for compaction.

Soil Compaction

Successful soil compaction requires each layer to have proper thickness, density and moisture. If one layer is not strong enough either through under or over compaction the road could possibly fail. With the CCS900 Compaction Control System you can easily measure and record accurate pass counts and soil stiffness, insuring operators perform properly and giving clients confidence in your work.

Terrain Leveler Systems

GCS900 on terrain levelers and trenchers are available in 2D and 3D configurations. 3D configurations use either a single or dual MS992 GPS Smart Antenna and cross slope sensors to accurately control the terrain levelers depth and pitch, allowing the operators to cut through solid rock at 2% slope to profile.

2D Systems use an LR410 Laser Receiver, cross slope sensors and Spectra Precision rotating laser to control the elevation only. Most new Vermeer machines are standard Trimble Ready for quick installations.

Dozer Systems

The Trimble GCS900 3D Grade Control System for Dozers helps you achieve accurate finished grade with fewer passes. Design information and live cut/fill indications are displayed in the cab, allowing the job to be done safer, faster and without the need for survey stakes. The dozer blade control can be completely automatic or the operator can use the in-cab display and control the operation.

The system provides real-time information for monitoring avoidance zones and simultaneously collects as built data as the machine cuts to grade. With VisionLink this information can be monitored remotely in your office.

3d Milling Machine

Accurate milling begins with a quality 3D design model created in Business Center HCE. The 3D design is loaded onto the control box and displayed to the machine operator showing areas that are on, above, or below ideal grade. Comparing the actual drum position and slope with the digital design, the system automatically guides the milling drum to cut the ideal depth and slope without stringlines or manual adjustments.

Using GCS900 on your milling machine provides several benefits:

  • Smoother base mill out the existing undulations, creating a smoother surface for paving
  • Shorter lane shutdowns trucks can run more efficiently unhindered by stringline and stakes
  • Reduced machine wear by only milling to the depth required, the machines will burn less fuel and experience less teeth wear
  • Less material to remove fewer trucks and cost required to remove waste material
  • Less asphalt usage mill off the minimum depth and use less asphalt for the final surface

Positioning Driller

Towing and positioning drilling and production rigs in a marine environment is extremely difficult. Your ability to position the structure can be compromised by everything from sea conditions to working at night or in the fog. The need for sub meter accuracy and precise heading alignment in this often harsh offshore environment provides a further challenge.A major part of the rig move process is the communication with anchor handling vessels to ensure that anchors are moved and laid correctly. Trimble simplifies these complex processes, creating solutions that offer accurate positioning and present data in easy to interpret displays.
