Grey Water System

Grey Water is wastewater from bathtubs, showers, bathroom sinks, washing machines, dishwashers and kitchen sinks: any source in your home other than toilets. 60% of all the water we have in our home is greywater. The concentration of the UAE population in multi-storey buildings in urban areas makes residential water conservation, including greywater recycling, a highly attractive option for reducing water demand and wastewater generation. There are two types of filtration that might be installed:

1.Media filtration

2.Ultrafiltration

Ultrafiltration systems eliminate the need for clarifiers and multimedia filters. Standard design is based on a UF module with outside-in flow configuration which allows for less plugging, higher solids loading, higher flow area and easy cleaning

River Water Purification Plant

River water make a convenient source for water for both processes and cooling of building environments. Unfortunately many of these natural sources are not as clean as the water supplied by our utility companies, but with careful selection these water sources can be easily transformed into low cost process water.

River water has been successfully used for the air conditioning of shore side or riverside buildings for many years, but with the advent of high efficiency heat exchangers to minimize energy used in maintaining our building temperatures we can no longer use the water as provided. New depth filter technology can provide a simple yet effective solution depending on the level of quality required by the equipment.

Odor Control System

Dema&C has already for many years a range of sewage gas filters for odor emission control constructed in double wall, black UV resistant high density Poly Ethylene material. These filters are with integrated equipment such as fan and heater. Now Dema&C has designed a new range of sewer gas filters constructed in Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP). Additional to the filters Dema&C can supply demisters, fans, heaters, etc. to fulfill clients requirements.

Typical odor emission control applications are the removal of odor from sewage treatment plants. In these plants several emission sources need odor control equipment e.g. such as pump stations, wet wells, sludge dewatering and sludge trans-shipment operations from silo into trucks.

Sewage odor consists of mainly hydrogen sulphide. Next to hydrogensulphide the gas also contains organic sulphur components (mercaptans, hydrocarbons) and ammonia. In general activated carbon will adsorb all these components.

Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor

MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) technology is a compact biological treatment that requires suspended solids separation downstream, with or without chemicals addition.

MBBR biofilm technology is efficient, compact and easy to operate. It can be an excellent solution as a stand-alone process, a Moving Bed biofilm reactor, or it can be used to specifically enhance or upgrade treatment potential of activated sludge processes.

This technology provides cost-effective treatment with minimal maintenance since MBBR processes self-maintain an optimum level of productive biofilm. Additionally, the biofilm attached to the mobile biocarriers within the system automatically responds to load fluctuations.

Sedimentation System

Sedimentation is a physical water treatment process using gravity to remove suspended solids from water. Solid particles entrained by the turbulence of moving water may be removed naturally by sedimentation in the still water of lakes and oceans. Settling basins are ponds constructed for the purpose of removing entrained solids by sedimentation.Clarifiers are tanks built with mechanical means for continuous removal of solids being deposited by sedimentation applications:

1- Potable water treatment

2- Waste water treatment

Water Softener

Due to high levels of calcium and magnesium, many types of equipment fail to work properly, which can lead to an increase in energy costs and/or complete failure of the equipment. Many plants use water softeners for boiler feed, cooling towers, entire water supply and various types of process water.

Boiler feed typically consists of alternating water softeners to allow a continuous feed of soft water. Because of the efficiency of boilers, capacity and not flow rate is the main issue in designing the water softener system. The higher the operating pressure of the boiler, the more stringent the water quality requirements will be.

Cooling towers are another common application for industrial water softeners. Cooling towers can operate much more efficiently with softened water. This can help to realize a drastic reduction in maintenance, chemical feed quantity, and the volume of water required for operation.

Using water softeners for their entire plant feed water is necessary. Due to high hardness levels the majority of the time, this is the only option as it is usually the most cost effective and protects the entire plant from complications and damage that scale can cause.

Chlorine Controller

Automatic measuring and control systems ensure the right water quality in modern water treatment. All required functional elements are mounted on the sampling stations ready for connection. Due to the great variety of our products we are able to supply the appropriate sampling station for each application.

Chlorine Controller Features:

1- Measuring free chlorine with potentiostatic, open amperometric or diaphragm covered measuring cell

2- Measuring total chlorine, pH, temperature, Redox and conductivity

3- Display of effective chlorine according to the dissociation curve (depending on pH value and the disposable disinfection capacity)

4- Up to 4 regulators of free chlorine and pH value control and regulation of the systems to reduce the bonded chlorine and for dosing the brine

Activated Carbon

Carbon filteringis a method of filtering that uses a bed ofactivated carbonto remove contaminants and impurities, using chemicaladsorption.

Each particle/granule of carbon provides a large surface area/pore structure, allowing contaminants the maximum possible exposure to the active sites within the filter media. One pound (450 g) of activated carbon contains a surface area of approximately 100 acres (40 Hectares).

Activated carbon works via a process calledadsorption, whereby pollutant molecules in the fluid to be treated are trapped inside the pore structure of the carbon substrate.

These filters are used to reduce chlorine, organics, color, tannin, and objectionable tastes and odors from water. Automatic backwashing system removes the trapped contaminants within the filter bed and washes them down the drain. Our Household Carbon Filter use NSF approved coconut shell based carbon.

These filters are most effective at removing chlorine , sediment, volatile organic compounds(VOCs), taste andodorfrom water.

Typical particle sizes that can be removed by carbon filters range from 0.5 to 50 micrometers. The particle size will be used as part of the filter description. The efficacy of a carbon filter is also based upon the flow rate regulation. When the water is allowed to flow through the filter at a slower rate, the contaminants are exposed to the filter media for a longer amount of time.

Reverse Osmosis Plant

Reverse Osmosis is a process in which dissolved inorganic solids (such as salts) are removed from a solution (such as water). This is accomplished by water pressure pushing the brackish later through a semi permeable membrane. The membrane (which is about as thick as cellophane) allows only the water to pass through, not the impurities or contaminates. These impurities and contaminates are flushed down the drain.

Our engineers can design reverse osmosis systems for any application. Because we custom design our systems for each individual project, we are not limited by flow rate, size, or customer specific requirements.
