These are used for marine and industrial applications and where fittings are exposed to oxidizing acids, alkalis, neutral brines and detrimental temperatures. Brass eye bolts are commonly used for light duty applications like hatch doors and never used for overhead lifting applications. Also available in stainless steel and carbon steel material.
