The UDMLC is a series of small footprint EtherCAT modules with dual quad-axis universal drives for servo, stepper, and voice coil motors with a power range of 10W to 200W. The type of motor is selected by the user and can be set differently for each drive.

This product addresses the needs of demanding multi-axis motion applications with limited space, such as moving inspection heads, small manipulators, and table-top motion stages. The miniature size, low weight, and minimal cable interface makes the SPiiPlusUDMLC ideal for mounting remotely on moving axes. It is available in three current levels (cont.peak per axis): 1.252.5A, 2.55A or 510A (dual axis version only), and has inputs for four digital incremental and two absolute encoders.

The unit is powered by a 12 to 48Vdc motor bus voltage supply and by a separate 15 to 48Vdc control supply that keeps all logic signals alive during emergency conditions. The UDMLC is panel or din rail mountable.

The Lexium MDrive Pulsedirection input is an integrated motor + driver with numerous enhanced features for a complete motion control solution.

Communications interface

The LMDxP uses an isolated RS-422485 communication interface with selectable BAUD rate ranging from 4.8 to 115 kilobits per second via a standard 9-pin D-subminiature connector. An optional USB to RS-422485 Comm converter with cable is available and is compatible with all 32 and 64 bit operating systems.

Power and IO

DC power and the IO are interfaced via robust locking connectors: a 2-pin screw lock connector for power, and a pair of 7-pin spring-clamp terminal blocks with side-locking tabs for IO.

The isolated IO bank consists of +5 to +24 VDC inputs for step, direction and bridge enabledisable, one (1) 5.5 mA Attention output, a 12-bit analog input and six TTL level differential encoder outputs, which are not isolated. The clock and direction inputs may be programmable to multiple clock types in software, either pulsedirection, quadrature or CWCCW.

Heidenhain Sealed Linear Encoders

Worlds First Collaborative SCARA Robot

The PF400 is the worlds first intrinsically safe four-axis SCARA robot. Unlike many other collaborative robots, that are intrinsically dangerous robots operating in a collaborative mode, the PF400 was specifically designed to limit all collision forces. It will not injure users or equipment even if it collides with them at full speed. This eliminates the need for expensive safety shields and permits the robot to operate safely side-by-side with personnel. Due to its revolutionary combination of safety, capabilities and performance, the PF400 is currently being employed in environments where automation could never go before: working on desktops of analytical labs, in mixed manufacturing assembly applications side by side with operators and in clinical diagnostic environments.

This low-cost, quiet OEM robot has its controller, harnesses and power supplies embedded within its structure to eliminate extra enclosures and simplify installation. This space saving design, together with a novel geometry, allows the PF400 to service many stations in an extremely small workcell. Combined with absolute encoder servo motors, which do not require any motion to home during start-up, and the collaborative aspects of the robot, which eliminate the need for barriers, the PF400 significantly reduces the size and cost of an automated cell. The lightweight PF400 can be carried by one person, mounted on a table and, by plugging in just an AC power cord and an Ethernet cable, is ready to operate.

ACS SPiiPlusEC is a state of the art line of Motion controllers and EtherCAT master.

It is specifically designed to extend the capabilities of the SPiiPlus line of controllers and EtherCAT master, to address the needs of modern machinery for cost effective high performance multi-axis, scalable and distributed control of motion centric applications. The SPiiPlusEC open architecture operates in conjunction with ACS line of EtherCAT servo and step motor drives and IOs modules, as well as with any certified third party EtherCAT module that complies with CAN over EtherCAT (CoE) protocol. The unique optional feature increases machines uptime using ring topology based redundancy to continue operation upon a network failure.

The SPiiPlusEC EtherCAT cycle and profile generation rate is 1 to 5kHz. ACS drives execute the servo control algorithms at a 20kHz rate using a distributed clock to ensure synchronization of better than 0.1 microsecond between all axes.

The SPiiPlusEC is complemented by the SPiiPlusNT suite of software tools that are designed to minimize time to market and to address the specific machine requirements throughout its whole life cycle. It provides extraordinarily easy automatic network setup, fast host and embedded application development, and quick diagnostics. Set up of third party drives are done using by the third party tuning tools. Once connected to the EtherCAT network, real time variables, such as position, position error, velocity and others can be viewed, monitored and recorded with ACS tools. All tools include a built-in simulator, powerful remote access and diagnostics, and fast error recovery, reducing training effort and costs.

It addresses the needs of modern machinery for both economical and for high performance, scalable and distributed control for motion centric applications. Its open architecture operates in conjunction with ACS line of EtherCAT servo and step motor drives and IOs modules, as well as with any certified EtherCAT module that complies with Can over EtherCAT (CoE) protocol, providing a comprehensive and cost effective control solution for demanding machinery. The SPiiPlusCMhpba controls and generates the motion profile for up to 32 axes.

The SPiiPlusCMHP addresses high accuracy demanding applications, while the SPiiPlusCMBA econo version addresses more price sensitive applications. The SPiiPlusCMHPBA are complemented by the SPiiPlus NT suite of software tools with built-in simulator that minimizes development effort and time to market. It provides extraordinarily easy setup, fast host and embedded application development, and quick diagnostics, reducing efforts and costs. The built-in drives are offered with three current levels: 510A, 1020A and 1530A ((cont.peak). The modules are powered by a single or three-phase AC from 24 to 265Vac (rectified internally to generate a Vac x 1.4 motor voltage) and by a separate 24Vdc control supply that keeps all low voltage signals alive during emergency conditions. It supports a wide range of position feedback devices: incremental digital, analog SIN-COS, and absolute encoders. The modules are optionally available with built-in additional 4-axis control of drives with PulseDir interface. The series are a plug-in replacement to the series of SPiiPlusCM control modules with identical dimensions and pin-to-pin connectivity.

The SPiiPlus UDMpm-2-320 is a line of EtherCAT universal dual and single axis drives for AC servo DC Brushless, AC Induction, and DC brush motors.
