Our MDF range is our lowest priced shutter, it's an extremely durable composite wood wrapped in a tough, water resistant polyurethane coating which is resistant to scuffing, staining, cracking, chipping and fading. Ideal for areas of heavy usage and probably the most child and pet proof product in the UK market today.

By using thin sheets of MDF and bonding these together to provide an engineered core for the panels and frames Emirates Shutters ensure exceptional rigidity within the product ensuring no twisting or warping.

Our MDF shutters are manufactured utilising the same core processes and the same care and attention that we use in producing our hardwood shutter ranges. Due to the manufacturing process it cannot be produced to fit shaped windows and is only available in five colours.

MDF Shutters are the most affordable route to shutter style for those who love the look of shutters but are working to a budget. Made from low density fibreboard, an engineered wood product, these shutters are strong, and straight, giving a uniform look that is smooth and neat when painted. Made to our exacting standards, they are simple yet attractive and available in four shades of white and neutral tones.

Our PermaWood shutters are manufactured using a hardwood core combined with an ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic coating. This co-polymer coating is extremely tough and resilient and is the same used in the manufacture of American football helmets.

PermaWood with its ABS coating is, by its own nature, very durable and wipe-cleanable. It would be our suggested choice for high traffic areas such as playrooms or nurseries where continual cleaning is required.

White Teak is our most versatile hardwood whether painted or stained.

Made from Forest Stewardship Council certified White Teak (Tectona grandis) is a highly sought after and valuable tropical hardwood due to its favorable physical properties, high natural durability. Teak timber has low shrinkage and medium density making it suitable for a wide range of purposes such as joinery, cabinet making, veneer, outdoor furniture and boat decking. They are well suited to areas where extra durability is required.

White Teak is renowned for being very stable with a fine and straight grain and an even texture. In addition it is lightweight and odorless. These properties have made it a favorite among wood carvers and this is reflected in the fact that it is ideal for special shape shutters and the production of louvers as it holds straight and true. White Teak looks great when having a sand blast finish as it gives more rustic deep grain look. Being a lightweight hard wood it also provides a large amount of flexibility when it comes to designing your shutters as the weight naturally affects the expanse of window you can cover without needing extra support.

White Teak also accepts stains very well which means you can be assured that should you choose a stained finish your shutters will have a uniform and consistent look. Full height shutters are the most popular design worldwide. This simple, yet chic style elegantly covers the window from top to bottom and can be made to fit any shape. Full height shutters are the perfect way to give a dramatic finish to patio doors or tall windows.As the name suggests, these are single full height panels that cover the whole window. This design also gives you the option of a midrail within each panel; this not only gives the shutter more support, it also allows you to operate the louvres above and below it independently.Typically a shutter panel has a continuous flow of louvres top to bottom however, you have the option to have as many mid rails as you desire. The mid rail is typically placed half way or at the same height as the structural features of the window.Full height shutters can be finished in many different stains. This gives you the flexibility of classic solid colours, luxurious wood effects and polished whites and creams. More options include stylish tilt rods and various louvre sizes.

Cafe style shutters only partially cover your window, typically the bottom. This style is perfect for street facing rooms to prevent passerbys peering in; it creates privacy at the lower level however allows light to flood through the top. This style creates a continental ambiance working well in kitchens and street level rooms.

This may sometimes decrease light entering the room however, can keep the room warmer as they act as insulation in winter and in summer you are able to open all panels top and bottom for maximum ventilation. Tier on tier are popular choice for common space windows which are in need of a lot of flexibility.

Track system shutters are great to cover large floor to ceiling windows that require more than the recommended amount of panels. They can also be used to create a stunning room divider using a folding track option. Track Systems are fantastic as room dividers, doors, walk in wardrobes or any other part of the house where a long run of shutters is needed.Emirates Shutters offer two types of Shutter Track Systems:By-PassandBi-Fold. Both options use a tracked system, much in the same way sliding patio doors operate. Using a small trolley wheel system, the panels are able to glide open and shut with ease. If required on installation these tracks can be fit seamlessly into the ceiling and the floor.

By-PassShutters Systems are the perfect solution for dividing rooms and separating living spaces. They work by allowing the individual shutter panels to slide from left to right by stacking in front of the previous panel.

Bi-FoldShutter Systems work great with patio or French doors and can also be fitted to large windows. The panels are fixed together using hinges and bi-fold inward creating more visibility rather than the shutters being stacked. Bi-Fold offers a floating style, which provides you with more flexibility as you are not restricted to a track

The Phoenix Shutter is made in a very light, grainy timber offering a superb character look stained and paint finished. It's is ideal on very wide openings where tracking is not desired.
