TQC FTG2000 Film Thickness Gauge This is a high precision film and foil thickness gauge, especially developed for measuring so-called "replica tapes" as Testex, used mainly to measure the surface profile. The TQC film thickness gauge operates completely according to "ISO 8503-5 Preparation of steel substrates before application of paints and related products - Surface roughness characteristics of blast-cleaned steel substrates - part 5: Replica tape method for the determination of the surface profile." As described in this standard the closing force is 1, 5 N. The gauge has to have an accuracy of 5 micron and a resolution of 1 micron. The large clear display makes it easy to read the measurement under all conditions. Values can be displayed in either microns or inches.To minimize the influence of bodyhand temperature the gauge is mounted detached from the holder.

Elcometer 124 Thickness Gauge Ideally used to measure the peak-to-valley height of a surface profile moulded in the Elcometer 122 Testex Replica Tape. Elcometer 122 Testex Replica Tape Designed to provide a permanent mould of the surface profile, which can then be measured using a thickness gauge. It consists of foam with a non-compressible backing. The foam side is rubbed into the surface providing a permanent mould of the peak-to-valley profile. The profile of the surface can then be measured using the Elcometer 124 Thickness Gauge. The Testex Tape is available in 5 grades for different surface profile ranges: Coarse Minus (C-) Tape for 12-25m (0.5-1.0mils) - not used in blast profilesCoarse for 20-38m (0.8-1.5mils) profilesAverage of Coarse and X-Coarse Tape for 38-64m (1.5-2.5mils) profilesX-Coarse (XC) for 64-115m (2.5-4.5mils) profiles, andX-Coarse plus (XC+) for profiles between 115-127m (4.5-5.0mils) ***There are 50 tests in each Replica Tape roll.
