Chemical stability : Chemically Stable.Reactivity : Inert, Not ReactiveConditions to Avoid : Not relevantHazardous Polymerization: Does Not Polymerize.Possibility of Hazardous Reactions:No Hazardous ReactionsHazardous Decomposition Products:Not Relevant.Incompatible Materials:Silica will dissolve in hydrofluoric acid and produce corrosive-silicon tetra fluoride. Contact with powerful oxidizingagents like fluorine, chlorine, tri-fluoride, manganese trioxideand oxygen di-fluoride may cause fires.Classification of the substance or mixtureThis product contains respirable particles as an impurityand therefore is classified as STOT RE2 according to criteriadefined in the Regulation EC 12722008 and does not meetthe criteria for classification as harmful according to Directive67548EEC. Depending on the type of handling anduse (e.g. grinding, drying), airborne respirable crystallinesilica may be generated. Prolonged andor massive inhalationof respirable crystalline silica dust may cause lung fibrosis, commonly referred to as silicosis. Principal symptomsof silicosis are cough and breathlessness. Occupationalexposure to respirable crystalline silica dust should bemonitored and controlled. This product should be handledwith care to avoid dust generation.
