The Broco MINI-TAC tactical torch kit is used by the U.S. Army, the FBI and other special units including the London Fire Brigade and Australian Navy. It is the smallest, most portable exothermic torch kit on the market today. The MINI-TAC is used in situations when the operator must make a small number of strategic cuts to enable him to complete his objective.

The Broco MINI-TAC is available with all-metal aluminum oxygen cylinders or filament wound aluminum composite cylinders.

The aluminum cylinders (torch set model no. PC/MTMODAL) are certified for North America only (DOT & TC) and recommended for all U.S. law enforcement & military customers who do not have their own oxygen booster pump. These cylinders are 15 cubic foot capacity at 2, 000psi (135 BAR).

The composite cylinders (torch set model no. PC/MTMOD1) are certified for North America and Europe (DOT, TC, EN). They have a capacity of 15 cubic feet at 3, 000psi (200 BAR) and so should only be purchased by North American customers with access to an oxygen booster pump. Commercial welding gas suppliers will not fill these cylinders. The export version ( model no. PC/MTMOD2) has BS 341-3 valve and regulator connection & 230V input battery charger.

The MINI-TAC contains two oxygen cylinders, submersible oxygen regulator, torch, oxygen hose, 2-pole striker plate with cover, battery assembly with charger, 18" rod extender, Molle carry pouch, leather shield, protective gloves, safety glasses, sample packets of 3/8" and 1/4" diameter cutting rods, collets to fit 3/16", 1/4" and 3/8" cutting rods, oxygen transfill hose assembly and a padded storage bag.

• The Broco Oxygen Regulator is a two-stage unit delivering the constant flow and high volume required for underwater burning. To execute the Broco Door Blower Forced Entry System, one operator holds the device against the door on the lock side while another operates the manual hydraulic pump to secure the device in place. The jamb spreader expands to support itself. The first operator steps back while the second works the pump until the tool is secured in the door frame. The entire system sets in just a few seconds.

With the entry team in position, the second operator cracks open the air cylinder valve (1/4 turn) causing the high pressure bag to inflate putting pressure against the door until it bursts inward. The operator clears the Blower from the entry point. The only noise is from the door/lock/jamb giving way when the breach is made.

The Broco BR-20 Welding Stinger is designed to hold the electrode at the optimum angle to the work piece delivering quality welds while reducing operator fatigue. The Broco 'Jimmy' is a personal tactical pry bar, 10-1/2 inches long with a 5/8 inch wide angled tip. Developed in England as the ultimate high-tech door breaching device, the 'SAS Tool' is an electric/hydraulic jamb spreader and door opener. It exerts almost 7 tons of force automatically switching between spreading and breaking. Can be used on either lock side or hinge side, operating silently until lock breaks.

The Broco SAS Door Breacher exerts hydraulic pressure through the frame cylinder between opposing faces of a door jamb in order to provide necessary support and resistance for pressure applied through the door piston to force the door open.

A hydraulic diverter valve within the tool automatically ensures the unit reaches correct pressure to hold it firmly before the door cylinder begins to pressurize.

The SAS Breacher consists of a rechargeable 24v hydraulic power pack, ten foot hydraulic lines with no-spill quick connects and dual piston door opener.

Broco Industrial Prime-Cut and Prime-Cut PLUS Ultrathermic rods contain core wires which burn in excess of 10, 000 F at the tip. Broco rods cut, melt or liquefy virtually any known substance.

These internal rods are recessed at the torch end to prevent burn back into the torch. This safety feature is unique to Broco Industrial. Circular crimps secure the internal wires. For many non-structural repairs the resultant weld is allowed more leeway in terms of porosity, inclusions, integrity and appearance. To fill the void between to-code work and economy, Broco applied its significant experience and knowledge to design a quality electrode specifically for the economy market. The result is EasyTouch , a moderately priced electrode yielding excellent results. It is easy to light, easy to run (a controllable puddle with rippled bead appearance) and easy to clean. Like SofTouch, EasyTouch is a high deposition all-position electrode.

EasyTouch offers users advantages over other economy priced rods that are more difficult to run, harder to clean, and often need to be grounded and rewelded - all adding to bottom time and increased operating costs.

Metal-filled epoxy putties allow fast, economical, permanent repairs to plant and equipment; cure quickly; and resist corrosion and harsh chemicals.

The original metal-filled epoxy putty, it is ideal for repairing areas where welding or brazing would be impractical. Can be drilled, tapped and machined. Conforms to the requirements of MIL-PRF-24176C, Type I.

The PC/TACMOD1 forced entry kit setup is fast and easy. The use of hand-tight fittings and quick connects means no tools are required for assembly or disassembly. The PC/TACMOD1 torch kit uses Broco cutting rods and RapidFire cutting rod igniters (optional). RapidFire's fuel element reacts with oxygen to produce a preheat source facilitating near-instantaneous non-electric ignition of the cutting rods. For economical operations, the included battery ignition components allow easy lighting of the cutting rods.

The PC/TACMOD1 comes complete with torch, high pressure oxygen cylinder, regulator, hoses, Breachers A.R.C. Molle backpack assembly, battery ignition accessories, rod extender, rod quivers, leather shield, gloves, safety goggles and custom foamed storage case.

The PC/TACMOD2 export version has BS 341-3 valve and regulator fittings and 230V input battery charger. The aluminum oxygen cylinder is EN compliant.

GOWELD enables in-field welding capability by using a vehicle's own batteries as the power source. Broco's Ni-Touch nickel wet welding electrode was developed to allow underwater wet welding of carbon and high tensile steels which would normally require the use of more expensive dry chamber welding. Nickel wet welding electrodes have been used by the U.S. Navy since the early 1980s for selective ship repairs. Now Broco brings customers an improved industry-leading nickel electrode which produces welds with less porosity and allows deeper welding in the overhead position. Ni-Touch electrode is appropriate for all position groove and fillet welds.

High tensile steels generally have carbon contents and carbon equivalents such that welding using carbon steel wet welding electrodes would result in cracking in the heat-affected-zone due to hydrogen embrittlement within a quench-hardened microstructure. With Ni-Touchthe nickel electrode mitigates the effect of hydrogen and results in successful underwater wet welds involving a broad range of high carbon equivalent steels, including HY-80 quenched, and tempered steel used in Naval ships with carbon equivalents exceeding 0.50 percent.

RapidFire cutting rod igniters are an expedient means of igniting an exothermic torch without the requirement for an auxiliary 12 volt battery. The RapidFire cartridge is unique to Broco and the key to the lightweight portability of our tools.

Burning in excess of 10, 000 F at the tip, Broco Underwater Ultrathermic Cutting Rods cut or melt virtually any known material. Broco's patented rod design features alloy core wires retained by circular crimps. The special design prevents burnback into the torch. Ultrathermic Cutting Rods can be bent 90 degrees or more to access hard to reach places without restricting oxygen flow or causing insulation to split or flake off.

Ultrathermic Cutting Rods may be used with a maximum of 150 amps to assist in the burning process and have no electrical requirement. Once ignited, they continue to burn as long as oxygen is supplied or until the rod is consumed. Broco Underwater Ultrathermic Cutting Rods are available in 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch diameters. Standard length is 18 inches. Broco offers 36 inch Ultrathermic Cutting Rods for heavier jobs allowing more burn time between rod changes.

The Broco Underwater QuiverPak is made of sturdy polyethylene and has a reclosable cap that can be tied to the main container to prevent loss. An indentation just below the cap allows for a carabiner to be easily attached to a dive harness and used as a quiver. It can also be used to lower a box of rods from the surface to a diver below.

At customer request, the Broco QuiverPak holds 50 Broco 3/8"x18" Ultrathermic Cutting Rods. The polyethylene quiver reduces the risk of rod corrosion while in storage.

Broco's flux enhancing proprietary formulation, BroCote, is the secret behind the reliability and ease of operation of the SofTouch electrode. BroCote makes this electrode particularly impervious to water penetration and denigration and ensures certifiable underwater weld quality with less labor cost and time consumption.

SofTouch electrodes are used for on-site repairs in many applications where steel must be joined underwater according to code specifications. SofTouch welds consistently meet or exceed AWS D3.6-98 specifications for Type B welds, the American Welding Society's standard for certifying underwater welds. SofTouch is designed to pass all AWS test requirements, including radiograph, bends and hardness and is the wet welding electrode welding engineers and divers prefer.

Since 1989, SofTouch electrodes have been specified in the U.S. Navy's Ships Husbandry Manual Chapter 11, "Underwater Wet and Dry Chamber Welding." U.S. and Navy diving commands, shipyards, and contractors use SofTouch for repairs and maintenance on Naval vessels worldwide.

SofTouch electrodes are available in various sizes and alloys for both mild steel and stainless. SofTouch mild steel electrodes are available in 1/8 inch, 5/32 inch and 3/16 inch diameters. Stainless electrodes are sold in 1/8 inch and 5/32 inch sizes.

SofTouch wet welding electrodes are sealed in a Mil-Spec foil pouch to prevent contamination. The electrodes are then packaged in a rigid resealable plastic tube which provides maximum protection. The color-coded end cap denotes mild or stainless steel electrodes. Operating guidelines are printed on the label.
