Ideally, selective pallet racks are arranged in two rows system. Pallets can easily be accessed from either side of the two row system.

Double deep configuration has double rows of two rows system, hence four rows racking system between the aisles. Inventory in this type of configuration is rotated in First-in, Last out management.This provides efficient use of storage space. However, a specialed forklift or reach truck will be required to access the pallets stored in the inner rows.

In Narrow Aisle configuration, the width of each aisle is reduced to minimum, therefore accomodating more racks in the same floor space, thanks to the modern forklift design with swingmast.

Narrow Aisle configuraion can achieve upto 40% more storage space by making effective use of floor space and warehouse height.This option offers a better economic advantage compared to moving to bigger warehouse or making structural alteration to the existing warehouse to accommodate more racks.

Drive-in pallet racks, also called Drive -thru pallet racks, provides the most effective use of storage space. This type of pallet racks requires very few aisles and therefore provides maximum cube utilisation.

Ideally the forklift carries the pallet and drives through the racking system. The inventory is rotated in Last-in, First out management as there is single entry/exit point.Drive-in pallet racks are used in warehouses where bulk storage is required.

In Shuttle Racking System, a shuttle (ie. A radio controlled flatbed trolley) moves to the required pallet position and carries it to the desired picking face. The shuttle moves back and forth in its channel that runs across the depth of the racking system.

This is a modern compact warehouse system that ensures maximum cube utilisation as there are no aisles in between the rows thereby providing maximum throughput. This type of setup is ideal for storing large volumes of similar goods.It also supports Last-in, First-out (LIFO) and First-in, First-out (FIFO) configuration.
