DESCRIPTION:
OASIS WRDA P8 is an accelerating plasticizer or water reducing agent for concrete and mortar. OASIS WRDA P8 is based on calcium chloride particularly useful for obtaining high strength in precast items such as blocks and lintels. OASIS WRDA P8 is completely soluble in the calcium chloride solution and no separation can occur even at low temperature.
OASIS WRDA P8 is formulated from carefully selected raw materials and is manufactured under controlled conditions to yield a consistent product. It is based on naturally derived materials dissolved in calcium chloride solutions.
ADVANTAGES:
TYPICAL PROPERTIES:
Appearance: Pale YellowLiquid Specific Gravity: 1.34 at 20C Air Entertainment: There is a possibility of slight air entertainment which rarely exceed 0.7%.Chloride Content: 34% approximately.Freezing Point: 7C SHELF LIFE: Shelf life is 12 months in unopened condition.
COMPATIBILITY:
METHOD OF USE:
OASIS WRDA P8 is supplied ready for use. It should be added to the concrete mix at the same time when water is added. It should not be added directly to the cement. No extension of normal mixing time is necessary.
NOTE:The performance of OASIS WRDAP8 is best assessed after preliminary tests on site using the actual concrete under consideration to determine the optimum dosage and the effect on properties such as ultimate compressive strength, early rates of strength and shrinkage.
As a guide to these trials, an additional rate of 1680ml 3360ml of OASIS WRDA P8 per 100Kg cement is recommended.
WARNING:
Under no circumstance, should additions be made at a higher level than the maximum dosage of 3360ml OASIS WRDA P8 per 100kg cement, due to possible deleterious effects of excessive calcium chloride.
EFFECTS OF OVERDOSING:
Overdosing of OASIS WRDA P8 will generally produce a considerable increase in workability and will shorten the setting and hardening process. Such over dosing is however, to be avoided because the maximum addition rate of OASIS WRDA P8 is equivalent to approximately 1.4% by weight of anhydrous calcium chloride based on the cement.
This is the level normally advised as being the maximum that should be used in cementitious compositions.
PRE-STRESSED and POST TENSIONED CONCRETE:
OASIS WRDA P8 contains calcium chloride and should not under any circumstances be employed in concrete when pre-stressing is done.
DISPENSING:
It is preferable that liquid admixtures for concrete should be introduced into a mixer by means of automatic dispensing equipment, details of which are available upon request.
PACKAGING:
OASIS WRDA P8 is supplied in nominal 200 litre drum. Alternatively bulk deliveries can be arranged.
STORAGE:
OASIS WRDA P8 should be stored in sealed conventional containers.
TECHNICAL SERVICE:
The technical department is available to assist you in the correct use of our products and its resources are at your disposal entirely without obligation.

CURED GEL COAT PROPERTIES:
Flex elongation, ASTM D790: 1.7 - 2.2HDT ASTM D648 : 180 - 210F
MIXING DIRECTION:
Shake / Stir well before use. At a temperature of 77F the resin will begin to harden in about 12 minutes and be ready for applying reinforcements in about one hour. At cooler temperatures the mixture will take longer to harden and at warmer temperatures it will take less time. The ration of hardner may be adjusted to compensate for temperature extremes; add up to 50% more hardner when cooler and correspondingly less when warmer.
Do not apply when temperatures are below 60F. Mix only small qualtities when temperature is about 85F as hardening will occur very rapidly. Never apply in direct sunlight. Mix in clean glass, paper, plastic or metal containers. Do not use foam containers. Mix no more than you can use before the resin will begin to harden, nd thereafter let your experience guide you. Do not return mixed gel coat to container.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
A previously gel coated surface must be clean and free from dirt, oil or other foreign materials and then lightly sanded prior to repairs. Mold surfaces should be prepared as instructed by the mold release manufacturer.
GEL COAT REPAIRS:
Small spot repairs are best done by dabbing the gel coat onto the area with a small brush and then covering with a piece of plastic to make sanding easier. In 4-6 hours the area can be sanded and the process repeated as many times as necessary until the damage is filled. Large repaires are best achieved by spraying the material through automotive siphon or HVLP spray equipment which provides excellent material control.
PROBLEMS:
Dullness: Dull mold surface, insufficient catalyst.
Slow Gelatin : Cold mold surface, insufficient catalyst, gel coat too thin.
Pinholes : Initial pass too heavy, insufficient atomizing pressure.
Wrinkling : Cold mold, insufficient catalyst, insufficient gel coat thickness. Glass pattern print-through: Gel coat too thin, cold mold, insufficient catalyst.
Sagging : Excessive gel coat, insufficient atomization.
Lifting of gel coat from mold : Too much catalyst, mold too warm, gel coat applied too thick.
SAFETY & HANDLING:
OASIS GEL COAT contains ingredients which could be harmful if mishandled. Contact with skin & eyes should be avoided and necessary protective equipment and clothing should be worn. Individuals should wash with soap and water before eating or drinking. Individuals should observe conditions of good industrial hygiene and safe working practice.
All containers should be properly labeled to prevent accidental ingestion or improper disposal. Individuals should reseal any partly used materials back in the container. Store OASIS GEL COAT at 73F, in dry conditions away from open flames and high temperatures.
