Veneered MDF (A/B) is made up from quality real wood veneers bonded to premium MDF. The core is MDF is with a 0.6mm veneer on both sides to create the finished size. Veneer features an A grade face and a B grade face. Flat slicing produces a crown cut veneer which gives a more figured face. Solid Timber and Real Wood Veneers are natural products. Each piece is unique, variation in shading, colour, structure, grain and the inclusion of knots and fissures are characteristics of the product. Veneered MDF is an ideal alternative to solid woods and it is used for a number of purposes including making office furniture, kitchen cabinets, panel mouldings, dining sets, fire surrounds and many more. Due to its smooth and stable surfaces MDF is also used for decorative wood or laminate veneers and it can easily be drilled and cut to specific sizes
MDF FR are non-load-bearing boards with improved fire retardant properties and are manufactured in compliance with European standard EN 622-5 where they are defined as boards for general use in dry conditions. MDF FR are increasingly used particularly in public spaces where stringent fire regulations must be met. Boards meet strict requirements which include improved fire resistance and especially the ability not to contribute to fire spread and not to form burning droplets. According to EN 13501-1 boards are classified B-s2, d0 in terms of reaction to fire. Boards are produced red-colored fiber as standard.
Chipboard, is an engineered wood product manufactured from wood chips, sawmill shavings, or even sawdust, and a synthetic resin or other suitable binder, which is pressed and extruded. Chipboard is cheaper, denser and more uniform than conventional wood and plywood and is substituted for them when appearance and strength are less important than cost. However, Chipboard can be made more attractive by painting or the use of wood veneers onto surfaces that will be visible. Though it is denser than conventional wood, it is the lightest and weakest type of fiberboard.
TubularChipboardprovides an ideal combination of light weight and stability. Compared to solid boards, the weight of Tubular Core is reduced by up to 60%. This allows high quality doors to be made without making them heavy. Tubular cores generally have a low thickness swelling, making them specifically apt for doors with delicate surfaces. The special positioning of the particles guarantees a very high impact resistance: Doors with Tubular Core withstand even the greatest impact despite maximum diameter of the tubes.
Moisture resistantMDF boardis used in places with high humidity levels. In comparison to standardMDF board, Moisture ResistantMDF board(or HMR MDF) contains a moisture-repellent resin which gives it a better moisture resistant rating. However, HMR MDF shouldnt be mistaken to be water resistant as its still prone to swelling and warping if in direct contact with such elements.
