REEFER Specification
REEFER aquariums are constructed from thick, beveled-edge, ultra-clear glass to support their elegantand modern rimless design. The aquarium sits on a recessed base that floats it above the cabinet, which seamlessly follows the contour of the glass.The marine-spec laminated cabinet that houses the sump, (and in the larger models also includes adedicated, vented space for chillers) is smartly finished with weatherproof, epoxy-painted doors.
Removable surface-skimming combs surround the top of the centrally located overflow box that housesthe downpipe, sump return pipe and the discreet multi-directional eyeball return outlet nozzle. In the event of a blockage in the regulated downpipe, an additional emergency overflow pipe providesan unrestricted free flow of aquarium water directly to the sump.
To ensure a constant water level in the pump compartment, all REEFER sumps include an integratedautomatic freshwater top-up unit, guaranteeing a constant, stable water flow throughout the completesystem.Supplied as a complete self-assembly kit, all pipe work is ready without the need for any gluing.

The air stone fits in the base of the biOrb underneath the filter cartridge. It breaks up the flow of air into the aquarium, splitting it into a mass of fine bubble. It also reduces noise from the air pump.
Over time the tiny pores in the air stone can become blocked by dirt and lime scale preventing air from getting through properly. Depending on your local water supply and the conditions in your biOrb an air stone can last anywhere from 3 months to 3 years.
Changing the air stone from time to time is advisable.

450g Ceramic Media
The ceramic media in your biOrb forms the main part of filtration and is important in keeping the water clear and healthy.
Beneficial bacteria colonise the ceramic media and remove toxic fish waste from the water as the water flows through it. biOrb ceramic media is full of pores for bacteria to live on, just 900g of ceramic media has the surface area equivalent to a football pitch.
You can add more media to your biOrb to increase the area for filtration.
Over time, these pores can become blocked with dirt and limescale reducing the surface area available. Replacing some of the media every year or so can help to keep the filtration efficient.
Never replace more than 1/3rd of your media at one time and wait at least a month before replacing any more.

The cleaner pump works like a siphon but has a squeezy hand pump to get the water flowing and is really easy to use.
Simply hold one end of the cleaner pump in the biOrb and direct it towards the base. The other end has a blue hand pump which you hold over a bucket. Squeeze the hand pump quickly a few times and water will start to flow out of the biOrb into the bucket.
Move the nozzle around the ceramic media to take out waste and debris with the water.

biOrb Cleaning Pads have been made from a material which wont scratch.
They have a soft side for gentle cleaning and a rough side for tougher algae deposits.

The Intelligent LED Light is an automatic light which simulates a natural light cycle for your fish. An inbuilt timer phases the light through a 24 hour period from daylight to moonlight and back again.
Not only does this create a more natural light environment for your fish it also means you dont have to switch the light on or off. You can leave it running 24/7, so if you are late home or away on holiday your fishs routine is not disturbed.
In daylight mode the light is a natural white illuminating the true colours of the fish. At night the blue moonlight casts a stunning effect.
The light is easy to use. Plug it in at the time of day you wish it to start and it will cycle a 24 hour period from that time every day.
Long life LEDs mean that there are no bulbs to change.

This cleaner is in two parts, one goes inside the biOrb and the other outside, they hold themselves together with a magnet so as you move the outside part, the inside part follows.
Soft blades clean algae off the inside surface as it moves along. Designed especially to work on the curved surface of your biOrb.

At night this light automatically creates a calming ambient glow. An in-built sensor detects when the room is dark and automatically switches from the white daylight bulb to a blue moonlight. Left plugged in constantly, the light typically costs just pence per day to run.

To get green water problems under control this cartridge can be used in place of the normal filter cartridge temporarily. Along with the sachets of treatment supplied it will remove the algae which causes green water. Follow the simple step by step instructions supplied to remove the algae and clear your biOrb water.
This is a treatment cartridge, it does not prevent green water. The best way to prevent green water is to minimise feeding and carry out regular maintenance.

An LED light with cable, switch and two pin plug to connect to your existing biOrb transformer. With a curved underside to help moisture run off the sur- face, reducing the need for cleaning. The bright white LEDs are suitable for 50, 000 hours of lighting.

biOrb transformers are very reliable and rarely need replacing, if yours has stopped working and you have a standard light unit check that the last bulb you fitted was the right size. If you have fitted a larger bulb it will blow the transformer and stop it working. If this is the case replace the bulb before plugging into your new transformer.

Does small mean unhealthy?Not at all, the baby biOrb actually has a biological filtration system that is bigger than any other similar sized aquarium. In fact, many aquariums twice its size have less biological filtration.
To maintain your baby biOrb all you need to do is simply replace the filter cartridge every six weeks and change a third of the water every two weeks.
