Taking a few minutes each week to maintain and monitor aquarium conditions is the key to a healthy aquarium. The FRESHWATER MASTER TEST KIT tests the parameters that affect the health of freshwater fish: pH, High Range pH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. The FRESHWATER MASTER TEST KIT is highly accurate and economical, and includes a computer calibrated, laminated color card, 4 test tubes and holding tray. The FRESHWATER MASTER TEST KIT comes with a complete, step-by-step instruction booklet, including information on how to correct unsafe water conditions.

Matrix is a high porosity biomedia that provides efficient biofiltration for the removal of nitrogenous waste. Matrix is a porous inorganic solid about 10 mm in diameter. Each liter of Matrix provides as much surface (>700 m2) as 170 liters of plastic balls! Plastic bio-materials provide only external surface area, whereas Matrix provides both external and internal macroporoussurface area. These macropores are ideally sized for the support of nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria. This allows Matrix, unlike other forms of biomedia, to remove nitrate along with ammonia and nitrite, simultaneously and in the same filter.

Matrix is completely inert and will not breakdown. It need not be replaced. Since the majority of the bacteria are internal, Matrix may be rinsed when needed without damaging the filter. Matrix is compatible with all types of wet or wet-dry filters.

Reef-Safe elimination of Aiptasia. A unique, thick adhesive mixture that globulates on contact with the aquarium water.

It is easily injected near to the oral disk of the anemone and stimulates the anemone to ingest the material without causing it to withdraw. Within minutes of ingesting the Aiptasia-X the anemone will implode, eradicating both the anemone and planulas.

An organic complex of dissolved & suspended energy sources a unique formulation of carbohydrates, amino acids, fatty acids and suspended protein flocks which are available for direct consumption and absorption by the corals.

The suspension of protein flocks promotes the micro bacterial fauna that naturally populates the coral tissue and will increase mucus production.

StressGuard is the premium slime coat protection product. StressGuard will reduce stress and ammonia toxicity whenever handling or transporting fish. StressGuard binds to exposed protein in wounds to promote healing of injured fish and to reduce the likelihood of primary and secondary infections. StressGuard is compatible with all medications except those that are copper based.

StressGuard is not amine based and will not interfere with Purigen or HyperSorb regeneration. StressGuard does not coat resins or clog filtration like competing slime coat type products can.

How it worksWhat makes StressGuard very successful at healing is the fact that it contains protein active colloids. This protein active colloidal agent actively seeks out any wounds, abrasions, orplaces where exposed proteins are and attaches to this area to help directly deliver the disinfectant in the product and start the healing process.

This protein active colloid, because it binds to the exposed proteins, also acts like a liquid bandage to the abrasion.

Natural seawater includes over 70 chemical elements and although most of the elements influence the water parameters, a few of them have a more significant role in its overall chemical stability.These elements form the foundation of the reef environment and they include the three major elements:calcium, magnesium and bi-carbonates. These three foundation elements have a major effect on thewater chemistry (pH stability, alkalinity, seawater ionic strength) and on many of the corals biologicalprocesses (skeleton formation, ion- exchange, photosynthesis).

Unlike the natural reef environment, where there is an immense reservoir of the foundation elements, the reef aquarium has limited resources that are quickly depleted by the aquarium inhabitants. Therefore, in order to enable sustainable coral growth it is necessary to maintain higher than natural levels of the foundation elements.

Original research carried out in Red Seas laboratory has shown that in a closed system (an aquarium)a specific ratio between the foundation elements of calcium, magnesium and carbonates (alkalinity) isnecessary for coral vitality and the formation of a robust aragonite coral skeleton. This ratio must be maintained especially when increasing the levels of the foundation elements above the natural sea levels.

The air pump on your biOrb works very hard, 24 hours a day and like all mechanical parts will eventually wear out. You may notice that the pump becomes noisier or the bubbles less vigorous. At which point it may be time to replace your air pump.

Replacing the air pump is simply a case of unplugging the old one and plugging in the new. Simple instructions are supplied.

If your air pump stops working replace it as soon as you can to minimise interruption to the filtration. It is advisable to keep a spare air pump so that if it fails you can replace it straight away.
