Bitumen, also known as Asphalt. It is a sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. It may be found in natural deposits or may be a refined product and is classed as a pitch. The primary use (70%) of asphalt is in road construction, where it is used as the glue or binder mixed with aggregate particles to create asphalt concrete. Its other main uses are for bituminous waterproofing products, including production of roofing felt and for sealing flat roofs.
Oil is composed of a mixture of hydrocarbons and does not always have a stable chemical composition. Crude oil, which is a natural fuel oil, shows the compositions that vary according to the countries in which it is located. Oil is usually brown, dark green or black in liquid form. Its density varies according to its chemical composition and viscosity.
Crude oil is the oil obtained from the oilseeds by pressing and extraction method (with organic solvents). These oils must be stored in a place where there is absolutely no sunshine and only at room temperature. A raw oil that has been opened should be consumed immediately within a maximum of 1 month and should not be kept for more than 2 months.
