RN Rubber Gasket are used to connect air lines from compressors or other air source to all types of pneumatic tools and equipment. All 2 lug head connections are of one size for easy interchange. Hose shank or threaded end is coupling size. Male and Female threads are NPT.

Rubber Gasket prevent leaks between separate substrate sections.It has good elongation properties, as well as adequate resilience, tensile and compression set.

When looking for a high performance seals, they often lack the ability to remain durable if an application comes in contact with oils.For these situations, consider using Nitrile Butadiene Rubber, also known as NBR, gaskets. Universal Air Coupling is designed for air and water service and provides a quick connection between three lengths of hose; or length of hose and a male or female NPT outlet. In sizes 1/4 inch to 1 inch all heads are the same and are interchangeable regardless of the hose shank or NPT thread size. Connections made by pressing the two heads together and applying a quarter-turn. The locking pin is placed in the hose to provide a safe connection.

Triple Connection Universal Couplings, also known as Chicago Couplings or Air King series couplings, feature a simple quarter turn to connect. These couplings are commonly installed on air hose assemblies that connect pneumatic tools to their compressed air source. Firmly pressing one coupler to another and twisting seals the connection. Safety clips prevent accidental disconnection during use. Universal couplings are a convenient quick connect system to mate varying diameters of hose, as all sizes up to 1 inch interchange with one another. Yet sizes over 1 inch have a four lug design which also interchange with all other sizes in the four lug style. In addition universal couplings do not interchange with sandblast, Minsup, or European style couplings of similar style. Finally lubricate the gasket for easierconnection.

Warnings:

Safety pins, clips or wires should always be installed in couplings. Finally never use universal air couplings for steam service.

Limitations for Universal Coupling Hose End

Universal Air Couplings have a maximum pressure rating of 110 PSI

A sleeve type coupling that is secured to the hose with wood screws and have the same features as the sandblast hose end. The exception is that the hose end of the nozzle holder is NPT threaded to accept the sandblasting nozzle.

Ground joint couplings supply a convenient threaded fitting to connect two lengths of hose, and a single length to a male or female threaded outlet

The spud part of the coupling serves as one half of the Boss Ground Joint connection therefore it is usually fixed to the equipment. As a result stem part that is clamped to the hose is the other half. The two halves are connected or disconnected by rotating the wing nut on the spud. Finally when connected they achieve both a mechanical, and a pressure seal.
