TUBULAR BACKWASHING FILTER SYSTEMS Strainer systems are generally used for particle retentions as fine as 100 mesh (150 microns), with some exceptions. Filter systems are designed to retain particles as small as 1 micron. Tubular backwashing filter systems temporarily reverse the flow through the filter element, backwashing and dislodging embedded particulate. When continuous flow is required, the filter system will consist of multiple chambers, ensuring that a minimum flow and a constant discharge pressure is maintained during the cleaning cycle.

FLUSHING STRAINERS This is a type of modified simplex strainer, having the drain port connected to the bottom of the strainer basket, enabling "flushing" of retained particles when the drain valve is opened. The effectiveness of the cleaning is dependent upon the differential pressure of the system compared to the (presumably) atmospheric pressure of the drain port. Other factors include the particle characteristics, if they tend to be hard and non-deformable, this strainer design provide a low-cost/tech approach for reducing labor related expenses.

Hydra-Cell high pressure coolant pumps are sealless, meaning they do not have cups, packing or mechanical seals (the primary source of wear and maintenance for high pressure centrifugal and piston pumps). Snap-Ring filter bags are designed for use with bag filter housings. Snap-Ring filter bags are the "economy" choice for basic liquid filtering applications to a nominal 65% to 70% level of efficiency. As the filter bag model/design improves, the material it is made from become thicker and the sealing method becomes more efficient. Snap-Ring filter bags utilize a sewn construction and are made from virgin materials. Snap-Ring filter bags seal the bag to the internal restrainer (support) basket via a metal or plastic "snap-ring". Generally speaking Snap-Ring filter bags should be used when the particle retention level is >25 microns and for applications that do not have much particle loading.
UniBag filter bags are designed for use with bag filter housings. UniBag filter bags are considered to be a slight improvement over Snap-Ring filter bags and as such are also considered an "economy" choice for basic filtering applications to a nominal 65% to 70% level of efficiency. As the filter bag model/design improves, the material it is made from become thicker and the sealing method becomes more efficient. As with the Snap-Ring filter bags, UniBag filter bags are made with a sewn construction, although unlike Snap-Ring filter bags, UniBag filter bags are made from recycled fibers. What makes the UniBag filter bags an improvement over Snap-Ring style filter bags is the sealing method. UniBag filter bags have a crush seal design per the higher quality Sentinel, DURAGAF, LOFCLEAR, ACCUGAF and PROGAF filter bags. Unlike the snap-ring closure, the Sentinel style crush ring seal has larger contact area against the restrainer (support) basket. Downwards pressure from a separate sealing ring or from the bag filter lid (goose neck style bag filters) creates a bypass free seal and is therefore recommended for all applications, especially when the desired retention is
LOFTREX melt blown polypropylene filter cartridges have a multi-density design to simultaneously retain both coarse and fine particles. The outer portion consists of non-woven melt blown polypropylene for retention of larger particles. The inner area consists of a bi-component polypropylene and polyethylene fiber inner core to retain the finer particulate that traversed through the melt blown section. LOFTREX are constructed as a single piece, it is not a two piece design with an inner core. No surfactants are present which could contribute to foaming or other undesirable performance and the material of construction satisfies FDA CFR 177 requirements LOFTREX filter cartridges are offered in four designs encompassing both nominal and absolute rated retentions and single and multi-zone designs for retentions within 0.50 to 150 microns. Sentinel filter bags are the industry standard "every day" filter bags for industrial applications. Unlike less expensive Snap-Ring and UniBag filter bags are made from a heavier material and are all made from a fully welded construction. The heavier material provides slightly more depth filtration, essentially a torturous path for the fluid and particles to navigate; the particles are retained and the liquid passes through. The fully welded design increases the strength of the filter bag. The restrainer (support) basket relieves most of the weight stress from the filter bag, however the differential pressure stress will usually cause sewn seams to burst before welded seems would. Sentinel filter bags are made in the widest number of materials and retentions and their universal #1 through #4 sizes will fit any brand of bag filter designed for #1 through #4 sizes. Sentinel filter bags also provide nominal retention efficiencies of 65% to 70%.

The FLOWLINE model bag filter housing is an "economy" version of the SIDELINE bag filter housing and should be considered when ASME code stamping is not required. If you require an ASME code stamp, CRN or steam jacketing, the SIDELINE or TOPLINE models should be chosen. The FLOWLINE filter housing is applicable for all nominal micron retentions, if you require a specified efficiency (99% efficient) filter media, you should use the TOPLINE design. Each FLOWLINE bag filter housing has a swing bolt cover which can be hinged in any one of four positions. The cover itself is what is referred to as an "evacuation cover" - a concave design that reduces the ullage (empty space) within the filter housing. The advantage is twofold; there's less "wasted fluid" during a bag change and the fluid level ends up lower in the housing to reduce spillage once the cover is opened. The cover is an investment cast component, ensuring precise, reliable sealing with concentric downwards pressure onto the bag hold-down ring. The restrainer (support) basket is made of 316SS and has 9/64" perforations. FLOWLINE bag filters also come with adjustable epoxy powder coated steel mounting legs. Coriolis flow meters are instruments that, using the Coriolis principle, me. The structure of our Coriolis Mass Flow Meters was consisted of a pair of bended tubes. The principle is to detect Coriolis force forced a pair of tubes from inner mass flow by fluid. Coriolis meter artificially introduces a positive and negative Coriolis acceleration to the process. As illustrated in the diagram below, the entire process is split and re-directed through two curved tubes. The tubes are vibrated at a multiple of their natural resonant frequency. Miniature velocity transducers comprising of a coil & a magnet are each mounted on one of the tubes as shown. When no flow is present the tubes vibrate and the sine wave output of each velocity transducer is in phase. When flow is initiated the tubes will begin to twist due to the Coriolis acceleration induced by the moving mass. This causes the sine waves to shift in relation to one another (either lead or lag depending on the flows' direction) and a measurement is made.

Vector peristaltic pumps are available with hose sizes from " to 2" to provide flow rates from 0.1 GPM to 50 GPM for transferring fluids at pressures up to 60 PSI. Vector peristaltic pumps are used to transfer viscous, pure or other non-lubricating "difficult to pump fluids" such as egg yokes, custards, cold crmes and chemicals from a holding tank to a processing line. Vector pumps have excellent suction lift capabilities. When you use a Vector Pump, nothing comes into contact with the fluid except the hose material. MODULINE bag filter system should be considered for high flow rate applications where the flow rate cannot be interrupted for filter bag replacement as an alternative to a duplexed DUOLINE or MAXILINE multiple chamber bag filters. The MODULINE bag filter system offer a flexible approach for high flow rate filtration applications. Instead of a single housing having multiple filter bag chambers, the MODULINE system consists of 2 to 8 #2 size bag filter housings installed on a common inlet and outlet manifold. A key advantage of this approach is that you can change filter bags without interrupting the process flow rate. This is something that you cannot do with multiple bag filter housings unless you duplex them together. The MODULINE bag filter system is more expensive then multiple chamber PROLINE and MAXILINE bag filters, however it is less expensive then duplexing multiple bag filter housings. If your filtration requirement falls within 1 to 100 microns (nominal), also consider the HAYFLOW upgrade option, as it may reduce the number of bag filter stations required. Perhaps one of the most overlooked aspect of bag filter housings are the accessories available for improving performance. Displacement Balloons reduce volume of carry-out loss during filter bag changes. A #2 size filter bag has a volume of approximately 5 gallons, in addition to the added weight when changing the filter bag, that fluid is often discarded with the filter bag. The displacement balloon significantly reduces this wasted volume and also results in a much lighter, easier filter bag replacement. Bag Positioners are a REQUIREMENT for absolute retention filter bags such as ACCUGAF and PROGAF filter bags, helping to keep the filter bag positioned correctly within its' restrainer (support) basket. Magnetic Inserts are powerful rare earth magnetic assemblies suspended within the filter bag, attracting ferrous particles, both alleviating filter bag loading in addition to increasing filtration efficiency due to magnetic attraction.
LOFMEM filter cartridges are made from Polyethersulfone (PES) and Teflon (PTFE) membranes under ISO 9001 quality control standards to provide absolute retention consistency. LOFMEM filter cartridges are used for final filtration of and beverages, ultrapure water filtration, DI water, photo resists, pharmaceutical intermediates, strong acids/bases, compressed gases and fermentation air. The flow rate controller is used in heating and cooling systems with circulation pumps. The controller automatically maintains flow at the set rate by measuring and immediately adjusting to any variation in pressure. No additional measurements are necessary and the correct quantity of water is supplied to all parts of the system under all operating conditions. The flow rate controller maintains the flow at a constant rate that has been preset; the diaphragm responds to the pressure upstream of the regulating valve (via an internal impulse line) and dowstream. The valve settings directly refer to the volume flow; accordingly, the maximum volume flow is preset directly according to the diagram when the controller is fitted"

Temperature transmitter is to amplify the electrical signals from the sensor, to correct and depending on the model galvanically insulate them. The conditioned signal can then easily be transmitted over long distances to the in-/output sections of a process control system or controller. Since the electrical signal from the thermocouple or resistance thermometer is relatively strong, signal amplification in close proximity to the sensors is not required.
Suction Diffuser mounts to the suction side of a pump in either a horizontal or vertical position. It is designed to remove any foreign matter that may be hazardous to the pump or other system components, while providing the proper flow conditions to the pump. Where space is limited, Suction diffuser can be used as an elbow (in some cases a reducing elbow) with a built in strainer for easy maintenance and system performance. Suction Diffusers are constructed from rugged cast iron castings that are machined to exacting specifications. These bodies have drilled flanges that are in accordance with ASME B16.1."
